About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“I’ve always felt very comfortable and welcomed at the gym and in classes. I joined just over 2 months ago to add in excersise to my weight loss journey. I’m nearly 7 stone down now and halo is somewhere I can go and not feel judged at all. Also Phoebe is a credit to you! Always so happy and supportive of my goals.”

“The place is dirty and short staffed. Staff are friendly but not always very knowledgeable. The hoist and bed are still not working after 3 years since I first complained.”

“Staff are friendly and make you feel part of a family. Classes are usually oversubscribed Early morning classes not as popular as mid mornings and there are no afternoon classes until early evenings. The shower facilities are a little tired looking but clean. One shower has been out of use for weeks.”

“Pretty terrible welcome at the Hereford centre. Met with unhappy faces an staff moaning at working conditions. Woman with blond hair needs to smile insted of being so miserable it’s poor customer service. Thinking of cancelling if doesn’t improve. I didn’t feel welcome at all sort it out!!”

“Staff at reception are always very helpful when booking in or if you need help or information. All staff throughout the complex in the Gym , swimming pool, studio all helpful and available at all times. In all Ynysawdre Halo Centre is well kept , tidy and clean whenever I go there.”

“I love swimming but have very little time outside of working hours. I book lane swimming at various times as I want to get a good swim in. Unfortunately I am often interrupted by other 'swimmers' side by side and having a chat. Lane swim or social swim?”

“Our Centre is about so much more than exercise. It's an opportunity to integrate with like minded people and socialise.
