About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

Bridgend leisure centre is my base. I attend classes couple time a week. Mainly good. Reception is busy and not able to answer the phone. Sometimes short of staff on reception so queues often. In the exercise rooms OK, bit dusty at times. I realise the exercise rooms are always busy so not much time at that point to clean, maybe best end of day to sweep through. Wish there was a general class of Tai chi added to list

I am a regular swimmer and enjoy my use of the pool. The staff are friendly and helpful. My only comment is that cleanliness could be improved.

Was the cleaner on holiday ? (25.5.25) The floors were filthy Normally not as bad as yesterday

I use the Toning Suite which is easy exercising. It is kept clean and the machines have just been maintained so are running smoothly. I do not rate the cafe as it is always slow to get a drink after a large class(>30).

NOT BAD, HOWEVER THE GYM IS ALWAYS LEFT IN A MESS AND NO STAFF SEEM TO CARE ABOUT TIDYING AWAY THE WEIGHTS.

Great staff at Leominster. I enjoyed Pip the trainer at spin classes and Karen with body pump classes.

First time taking my 4 month old baby which I looked into booking online first as I haven’t been swimming in years. We enjoyed the swimming pool but was disappointed by the rude unhelpful lady on reception. The time slots were available all day so we decided to go for the 12pm slot as this seemed to have the most availability being a Sunday. We went for 12 but decided we would pay on arrival having a newborn in case we miss the slot and would like to try for a later one instead. The middle aged lady on reception was unhelpful and rude. I explained the situation hoping for advice and information instead got told abruptly that I should have booked online. Every question I asked was cut off with an abrupt answer as if I was an inconvenience, she offered no information as I’d explained I hadn’t been in years and me being a first time mum wanted information for example if there was somewhere to put the pram and was told abruptly upstairs….. I walked away feeling more confused and overwhelmed wanting this to go smoothly for my newborn and myself for future visits. To add insult to injury as I walked towards the stairs there was a sandwich board stating that a lock for the lockers needed to be purchased at reception, as I turned to go back a considerable cue had formed so I decided to go have a look around to find where I had to go and unload my bags first then run back to reception to purchase the locker which cost £3.50! The receptionist was well aware that this was my first visit and made things unnecessarily hard which put me off any future visits of going with my newborn alone. I couldn’t find the pram drop and didn’t want to waste any more time wondering around after having to find my way back to reception to purchase the locker. I just felt that she was unnecessarily rude and unhelpful which left me feeling anxious and annoyed.

Halo leisure Ross has everything I want in a leisure centre. I especially like the yoga classes and the sauna.

Reception sometimes too busy and I think the coffee area should be separate to the main desk.showers flood quite often. Gym staff should monitor the people who use it and only allow 20 mins on equipment when busy.

Used to have loyalty programme with coffee however new management so no loyalty card,no biscuit as used to be and price increase.Change of menu which does not cater for people with healthy diets.Used to have jacket potatoes,salads on menu so I no longer order food here. On a positive note though the ladies serving are always friendly and give good service.

Visited for Aquafit session via GP Exercise Referral Scheme. Facilities clean. Pool temperature could be warmer. Hooks on doors in showers for towels would be welcome addition. Staff welcoming and professional.
