About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“The range of classes is excellent and the instructors are all amazing. My only criticism is the female changing rooms and the female toilets upstairs by the spin studio and down by the female changing room.They are dirty and the toilets smell, are very often left with other people's mess in the toilets. I feel they need to be checked and cleaned more regularly given the amount they get used”

“I have no direct comparison to your facility as I have not been a member of a similar gym/ sporting club for many years. However I find the gym by Tesco , as extremely welcoming and friendly. I go approximately 3 times a week on different days and have no problems gaining access to the equipment.”

“I really enjoy the weekly yoga class at the Severn centre and the tutor is excellent . However, In the winter months the room is really cold and requires additional heating for a yoga practice to be really enjoyable and effective. It would be great if additional Heating could be provided to warm the room up prior to the yoga session Thank you.”

“Halo Bromyard has limited facilities, no swimming pool, saunas, steam rooms etc. I have giyen it 4 stars because of the excellent service provided by Marcus the manager and his staff. The body balance class is excellent due to Marcus ' s leadership.”

“Well used centre for all age groups. Friendly staff, always. Great variety of classes and activities available each day. I’m also kept fully informed about things happening at the centre. Good value for money.”

“Good facilities run by extremely helpful staff. Couple of "moans" - staff need to actively encourage (i.e. by speaking to users) gym users to use the spray provided to clean equipment after use. Second " moan" - why is there no explantion for why the steam room is still out of action? ?@”

Hi Malcolm Thank you for your recent 4 star review. In answer to your question , the parts and service for the steam room is in the planning and we are waiting on a date for completion from an external company. It would be a good idea for a poster to be placed on the steam room door to inform customers of the current situation however as I'm sure you would agree, it would be silly to put a date of completion without risking more disappointment if it was to fall through. As for the gym etiquette situation, please update a member of the team if you feel other users are not following the hygiene rules whilst training. As always thank you for your continued support. “The staff are brilliant, knowledgable and helpful. Equipment is out of order too frequently and then takes too long to be repaired. Needs blinds for windows by treadmills as sun is always blinding if on treadmill. Could be open later on weekends.”
