About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Very welcoming, we enjoy using the facilities, the app is very user friendly as well. We go 3 times a week to aqua aerobics , gym , swimming and to a low impact work out”

“The staff are brilliant, knowledgable and helpful. Equipment is out of order too frequently and then takes too long to be repaired. Needs blinds for windows by treadmills as sun is always blinding if on treadmill. Could be open later on weekends.”

“Love this gym good equipment, opening hours could be longer especially on the weekends”

“Facility is very cramped with little machine choice. It was also frustrating having to book a session on the app, but arriving at the site and the gym being full as many people had clearly not booked - booking doesn’t seem relevant anymore. Staff at the site were very nice.”

“Good morning, There are many positives about halo facilities but still isn’t a good flush in the women’s toilets at Hereford Swimming Pool. This has been the case for many years. When will this finally be fixed please? Happy New Year! Teresa Godbert”

Hi Teresa, Thank you for your feedback, the team are disappointed with your score of 1 star and hope we can improve your experience at the centre in the future. We have checked all of the ladies toilet flushes and all are working accordingly. There are a couple which do require a lightly harder push so we will ask our maintenance team if they are able to source alternative flushes to our current system. “Always very welcoming and helpful. I only use the gym but I can’t fault it now that newer machines have arrived and repairs seem to be done on a regular basis. Sometimes, especially on winter mornings and when there’s not many people in, it does feel cold and the air con seems to be blowing out even colder air. I’ve occasionally noticed quite a few exercising in fleeces but maybe that’s intentional! This is just an observation and is not meant as a criticism. Could I also suggest that some means of putting names to the faces of staff is introduced so that it’s easier to sing their praises. They all seem to work tremendously hard and deserve their names in lights!”

“The staff are very friendly and helpful. The gym is pleasant to use as it is used by people of all ages which helps newcomers and people with lower fitness and ability feel relaxed.”

“It app is not great and takes sometime to work . I don't think you are clear on what classes are for example tonning centre is call 'toning Bridgend' not toning suite which it the name sign posted. Maybe look at what clubs call a class and place it on the web site with the same name.”
