About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

I am a member of Halo, Bridgend for the gym. The equipment is now a little long in the tooth, but there is a rumour that it will be replaced towards the end of the year, which would be excellent.

Staff are lovely and helpful Some of the machines in the gym could be updated. Classes are good. Swimming lessons take a lot longer here than other places. My daughter had two things to tick off for 6 months. Someone told me if you speak up they move them up quicker which I did and she moved up the next week. This shouldn’t be the case. I found her class wasn’t focused enough. Her teacher was friendly though.

Great range of classes and staff generally very good .delays at reception to check in are frustrating especially when staff are more focused on making coffee !

Never anyoneabout in gym to assist in showing how contaptions work. Lots of sittingon machines scrolling. Afternno full of kids chatting.

I have been (off and on) a member of Ynysawdre swimmimng pool/gym for the past 15+ years. My opinion of this site is roughly the same as it has always been. The facilities are mostly okay a little more clening would not go amiss. I am glad to see that a real effort has been made into the state of the lockers.The pricing for monthly membership is acceptable. It is now and has always been the lack of customer experiential service that is the biggest issue. I have worked for years in face to face customer services. There is (bar one or two individuals) any warmth or enthusiasm. On entering rarely is anyone greeted, when scanning in customers are almost never acknowledged. Times when site colleagues are not in sight. Virtually no active engagement with the customers. There are colleagues on this site who I have never seen speak to a customer unless approached by one. In short there is a distinct lack of a cuustomer based culture.

I like the centre at pyle as it's local to me & I can easily book the time slots that suit me. The only thing that im disappointed in is that the jacuzzi has still not been reinstated to working order, sonce covid. There are enough members paying membership to pay for it. We cannot use other spa's unless we pay extra & extra fuel costs which is not good for our carbon footprint print.

Generally good, although have switched to the lower floor changing rooms as always found the pool changing village area not clean enough. With a number of users still leaving their belongings in the cubicles. The QR code check in is again out of order which can mean queuing up when already booked! The gym is often unmanned and without music in the early mornings. Security could be improved by reinstating a gate system. As at present and if staff are occupied at the desk. Persons can simply walk through…..

I attended pontypool swimming pool with my little girl on the 20/9/2025 @10:30 I booked online for a public swim, but was unable to use the children’s pool and could only use 1 lane of the main pool as there were numerous swimming lessons going on, no where on the booking form did it state that there would be lessons in both pools, I find this totally unacceptable. If you had stated this somewhere we would of booked for a different time, ruined our swimming experience
