About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Broken equipment, dirty changing areas and oversubscribed gym area are just a few of the issues I've experienced over the past year or so. When the membership cost is no longer competitive yet everything is going downhill, I cant justify giving Halo my money any longer until these things improve.”

“Great community asset for our town. Great friendly and helpful staff. Within a restricted budget they do the best with the physical assets but the pool changing area needs some improvements. I would also like to see more classes available for people who are more physically restricted, like daytime yoga classes and seated exercise classes.”

“Nice centre. Staff are friendly. A few machines in the gym are offline and haven't been online for a few weeks which is frustrating as there is limited machines as it is. Changing rooms are a nightmare. Not enough cubicles and people leave their stuff in them all the time making it hard work to try to dress the kids after swim lessons”

“A convenient sports/ classes centre. Difficult to book on to classes sometimes. Could definitely do with more Yoga classes please. Yoga is so good for you. Know you have 1 regular yoga teacher, but what about another too ?”
