About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

Good overall but need more availability for evening classes. Lots of us can't come during the day due to work and it can be hard to get space for the evening classes as they get booked out very quickly esp Body Pump. The cycle track for roller skating is excellent.

I joined with the GP referral. The team who run the GP referral scheme are second to none. They have been absolutely amazing and I don't think I would have made a start without them.

I only use the cycle track. I really enjoy it and the staff are loved and always keep me upto date with things that are going on with the track. I’m looking forward to the new improvements

I think everything was good overall. The only downside is the lockers — if you don’t have a 50p, you have to take your things to the poolside. It’s not a big issue, but lockers where you can use your own lock would definitely be a bonus.

If you are under 16 can't attend the gym after 6pm at night which once I get back from my country school, changed and into town I can't do the gym which is very disappointing. When I first got my membership we were allowed but since summer we're not which is making me think whether I still want my membership as it seems pointless.

Reason for only 3 stars are they need to open the swimming a bit more in the afternoons , and be a bit more lenient with bookings especially with the gym they will attract more people like this

The staff are friendly and helpful, the classes are well run and exactly what I need but please improve the changing facilities.

Big improvement in cleanliness and professionalism of the new Halo Team. Also good to see excercise classes starting again. To get five stars I would want: 1. The reception desk to be staffed more often. I realise this cannot be 100% when only two staff are on site at times, however, often staff are on site on their phones for what I assume is personal reasons and should be staffing the desk. 2. Please, please communicate classes and key news via e-mail as well as social media to all members. MANY members do not use social media as a point of principal. Halo, you are missing a custtomer base here.

It's a smallish exercise center but it still has a lot. I've used the gym, the pool (25m length!) and the two saunas. It's well kept and friendly with a variety of customers from kids to oldies, which I also appreciate. Although I miss a few machines in the gym, it is a bit thin, and I haven't gone to any group excercise, didn't find any session of interest. Still I'm impressed what they offer overall considering it's in a small town.

Staff always polite and knowledgeable. Gyms always kept clean. Equipment always serviced .Staff always inform you in plenty of time of any closure etc

Some of the equipment is a little dated,and the rowing machines need attention. I am having to use the rowers at Pyle pool

Good facilities. NERS instructors amazing, other trainers also fab. Check-in procedures need improvement: machines often out of order for long periods of time, Receptionists often busy serving in café so scanner locked or, surprisingly often: 2 Receptionists dealing with 1 customer whilst queue forms. Car parking is chronic: I've been late or missed classes entirely due to lack of space. The car park needs to be solely for the use of Halo visitors, not Pay & Display, and the Bowling car park needs to be available for Halo users, too.
