About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“I have yearly membership and get great value from it. I usually make 2 visits per week to use the sauna and steam room. It is a friendly social occasion as I meet up with a regular group of fello sauna users and we can put the world right! Thanks too, for the friendly and helpful staff who are always very welcoming. It would be even better if some "relaxation" seating could be placed near the sauna and steam room, although I appreciate there isn't much space to achieve this.”

“We only use the swimming pool there now. The pools themselves are fine, but the changing rooms, female especially are in desperate need of attention. The shower area and the flooring needs replacing, needs updating.”

“I would have given a five because the group exercise classes are excellent and the instructors are all really good. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because Zumba was removed from the centre, it was a very popular class and is missed.”

“Very basic gym very little equipment and weights. You can get a basic workout done. If the is more then 4 people in the weights room might as well go home. Kids just use the gym as a play area. The staff are excellent tho and helpful.”

“Been a member of this gym for many years, prior to Halos takeover. I think we get great value for money with the classes and excellent instructors. Some of the gym equipment is awaiting repair and I hope this will be addressed.”

“Staff are great, helpful,encouraging and friendly. Very inclusive in the group sessions that I have been to. I encourage my patients to have a look around Halo and join as there is so much available to suit everyones capabilities and a variety of sports.”

“Bridgend Halo - good spin instructors & good gym staff . I don’t use the GP referral but the staff assisting the members who do are fantastic in their manner & they way they assist talk to them . Front desk staff great as well.”
