About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Natalie,Barry and the team do a good job,also attended a doctors referral scheme which was run by Darren which changed my life concerning a fitter life style cannot thank him enough”

“Great centre and wonderful staff. Only downside is the nfc check in system never seems to work, so you are left standing around until a member of staff is around, bit of a pain when you have limited time before work in the morning.”

“The instructors at Lady Hawkins are very friendly and knowledgeable. They are always on hand to help and advise. I wish the walls in the main hall were dusted more often but undersratnd this is up to the school?”

“Halo Leisure - Maesteg Sports Centre. This Centre has had a new refurbishment of the gym with a variety of different equipment and is very pleasant to use. With 3 rooms available, there's plenty of space around the gym and the app is quick and simple to use. The staff are friendly and classes are fun to attend on a regular basis. It would be nice to see more frequency of the classes to attend, for example Indoor Cycling is only once a week on a Tuesday. The spin bikes for this class are very dated and a lot of them are broken or have issues. One of the downsides for this Centre is the closing times over weekends. Maesteg Sports Centre does not open past 2pm on a Saturday and Sunday which makes it very difficult for myself and others who work until 5pm over weekends. This would be a massive improvement to the centre, especially with competitors out there offering later opening times or even 24/7 gym access. With membership to this Centre you also get access to the swimming pools which is a great benefit and also the spa facilities.”

“TH E CENTRE IS WELCOMING AND STAFF ARE HELPFUL, i wish there were more classes that focussed on older customers,Sometimes you can feel inadequate in a class where most memmbers are at least half your age or even less and far more mobile and active than you are!!1”

“Ledbury Halo is a lovely community space with a decent range of machines. The best thing about it is the post work-out sauna and cold shower protocol. The perfect start to a day.”
