About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“This place has a very spacious and well equipped gym. Decent changing rooms and nice staff. Would be perfect with some heavier kettlebells”

“Warm, welcoming staff and very good facilities, plenty of car parking spaces, wide range of equipment and activity options, changing rooms and toilets could be a bit cleaner but I guess that anywhere with high volumes of people have the same issues. I am surprised at how good it is, very glad Ijoined.”

“The staff are great and there’s a good range of classes. Sometimes the swimming pool changing rooms can pong a bit. The gym equipment needs a serious update.”

Hi Emma, Hi Emma, Thanks so much for your feedback Each pool is set to a controlled temperature which should fall within recommendations for the type of pool it is (For example, the main pool will always be slightly colder than the leisure pool due to adults using it for fitness, as opposed to children splashing around) However, there are occasionally things that can cause the pool temperature to drop, so if you ever experience the same again just ask the Lifeguard to call the Duty Manager, who can look into it for you We look forward to seeing you soon

“Love the centre but it feels slightly dated compared to the leisure centre. Could do with more of a presence in the gym, moving on teenagers that are just sat on equipment.”

We're glad to hear you love the centre, I agree that there are improvements to be made which we have plans to do in a variety of areas. You should start to see things looking a bit more updated throughout the course of the year. We have put an additional short shift in place on evenings where we know the gym will be busy. Gym staff have been briefed to ensure that equipment is being used correctly and that gym etiquette is being followed. That said, should you experience any further issues, please ask for a Duty Manager at reception who will be happy to assist. Thanks for your feedback, we look forward to seeing you soon

“I love my Halo centre as it has a great mix of facilities from Gym, swimming, courts and classes and the staff are so friendly and approachable, I always feel comfortable and welcomed.”

“Great pool and friendly helpful staff. Two issues: 1. Not enough public sessions in evenings and weekends. 2. Changing rooms need updating. Leaking ceiling has been there for years.”

“Very friendly, accessible and good value. I use both the pool and the gym and find them clean and easy to use. just wish that I could get into the Pilates classes - I always seem to be too late even when a place comes up on the waiting list.”
