About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Not one Email sent out to us explaining that the medals and certificates for passing a swimming class were no longer free! Put the Direct Debit fee up and now charge for the Medals and Certificates on top. Very disappointing Halo.”

“I attend classes at least once a day during the week, walk to the centre as parking is very limited . The facilities and equipment need to be updated and renewed”

“Good varied facilities in the gym. Friendly staff. Only bugbear is the regular lack of paper wipes or paper towels in the gym dispensers. Otherwise very happy.”

“The centre is fine. The only reason I am stopping is because I cannot do Gentle Joints just yet. Still have pain and swelling from knee replacement in February. James Nolan ( Kingstone Surgery) has referred me to you to have a trainer show me which exercises will help my back and knee.”

“Very poor. I asked in person for my account to be closed twice, but still got monthly payments taken out of my bank. And I never got a refund back, plus the line manager never responded to my emails, Very unprofessional.”
