About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“I love our local gym! There is a full range of equipment and very helpful staff. What is best of all is the atmosphere of no criticism, everyone welcome. All ages and abilities are comfortable with their own workout.”

“The staff at Halo are first Class always helpful. However there are times it is not very clean not enough lockers with keys as people are leaving their items in changing rooms so we have to chane in the toilets this should not happen”

“Since its upgrade the changing rooms are a lot nicer. However the number of showers was reduced to 3 and there is no open shower to use before going into the pool, so although much nicer there are actually less facilities Also only supplying 6 hooks for towels etc is not ideal The booking system was good and easy, then it changed and you made it really complicated but the booking system has been made more easy again”

“Excellent facility for a small local gym in Highworth. I regularly use the gym and it has everything needed. Parking is normally available and it is very convenient for me.”

“Would like to thank Melanie Brown for all her help at the Pilates classes she takes.l have been going since it started and it has helped me alot.It is a shame that one individual has disrupted the sessions and spoilt it for all the other participants. This individual books a session and a selected spot in the class .Mats are moved if in the area .”

“I very much enjoy attending the small group training sessions that I attend, the instructors are very encouraging and supportive. For me the biggest issue is the entance login system, I’ve attended nearly every week since it was installed and it has worked for me once. I also find the gym door entry very difficult to use, even when I’m given a code.”

“Great gym, top quality equipment and friendly staff. Has everything I need for a solid workout. Etiquette of some members is very poor. 90% of the time, weights are left on machines or on the floor. There are also some members who will “reserve” equipment with personal items. This isn’t the fault of the staff but it could be more well enforced.”

“I have been attending the Active for Life circuit sessions with Ffion Deere at Bridgend for a little while. This morning I took my mother with me. She is in her 70s and has had major spinal surgery so is very weak and wobbly on her feet. Ffion was absolutely brilliant with mam, she adapted every exercise to suit her and supervised her every step of the way to make sure she was safe. I can’t thank Ffion enough for all she does but especially today with mam, it is very much appreciated. Diolch yn fawr.🩷”
