About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Bromyard, is whilst it’s small, has everything you need the staff are friendly and offer advice and help whenever it’s asked for or needed. Only reason for stopping membership, is haven’t been going finding myself doing more outdoor activities, biking and lifting less weights.”

“Gym is great, staff are really helpful. Classes are amazing especially body balance, yoga and Pilates. I’ve changed my fitness regime since my arthritis is flaring and I mostly cycle and do classes at home now.”

“Lovely centre in Ross. Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of classes and activities. However yoga was my main activity and since the change of teacher I have not enjoyed the classes so have had to cancel my membership. I will rejoin if/when the previous teacher returns.”

“I have been a member for over a year . The staff & coaches are very helpful & welcoming. The facilities are clean and maintained. I would describe the centre as no frills but delivers on service and has a nice friendly atmosphere”

“I am an ExServiceMan who was a Physical Training Instructor for over 20years, And I very much enjoy attending the Garw Halo Centre and I really have to give the Staff there a Big Shout Out Especially Scott the Manager of the Ogmore Halo Centre who has stepped in to run the Garw Centre in the last 8 months and he has really turned things around he is Very Professional & Diligent and is a Great Asset to The Halo Group and deserves a Huge Well Done. “Ledbury swimming is Bijou in terms of leisure centres and it closes early at the weekend which is frustrating. However the staff are simply excellent and the friendly approach of all more than make up for the frustration. I like using the pool , the gym is well equipped , there is a reasonable range of classes. All in all a top exercise venue.”
