About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Everyone is very helpful with a good community spirit. Pool and changing g room lovely and warm. Bookings are easy. It's not always the cleanest of changing rooms/toilets I think this is the downside of school pupils on occasions. Grateful to see youngsters training here and the vote in the gym is very friendly and nit masculine overpowering”

“I'm only able to attend a couple of classes with Theresa on a Friday but she is amazing. Always aware of everything going on within the class, making adaptions for all abilities and difficulties etc. I for one have osteoporosisand Theresa is always suggesting alternative exercises, positions etc. I always feel so much better for attending her classes so a huge thank you her.”

“Have not tried the pool but everything else is spot on. Staff are very friendly. Just a shame parking is not free as with the leisure center.”

“Pencoed gym was good , but only a few exercises machine and sometimes people did not stick to the 20 mins and were on them for 40 to 60 mins so with only a few machines it was hard to compete your exercises routine”

“The team are always friendly and I enjoy the spin classes . Would like a spin class on a Saturday.. please 🙏. In ogmore vale . Some of the equipment is aged and not as much equipment as other gyms. I was with Nuffield where I could go to any gym at no extra cost and I accept I’m paying less but also there is no pool and steam room in ogmore .”

“Had a great time at Ynasawdre Halloween 🎃 party today .The staff were great and done a good job with the inflatable balls which were thrown all over the pool .Thank you Ynasawdre management and staff. I think all who attended had a good time .”

“I loved the gym! But unfortunately on joining the steam room was out of action and I felt the Pool slightly inaccessible. But I think this was due to it being a general leisure Center, for children, lane swimming, rather than a general pool. Which was my issue rather than yours!”

“Gym was generally good but the air conditioning was too strong blowing cold air down the back of my neck. Showers were poor, often cold and took too long to warm up. Lockers were not in good condition and many didn't lock. Staff were good and friendly.”

“Absolutely awful. Joined for the gym and it’s full of kids using equipment with no advice and bad form. Young girls hanging around in the free weights area. Staff on reception are miserable. One young lad also a lifeguard sat on gym reception on his mobile no acknowledgment of who’s coming and going. Had to cancel my membership £28.00 a month to be surrounded by kids in a gym. Shocking. No interest in speaking to new members and absolutely no induction offered. I would rate this place -5 stars if I could.”
