About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Good do with a really good clean Rust, mould and dirt I the swimming pool. Swimmers walk In to the changing rooms with their outdoor shoes despite the signs. I m not entirely sure that the staff don't wear their outdoor shoes in the pool either.”

“I attend several group classes each week at halo Bromyard. All of the instructors are encouraging and supporting. Most of the classes have a waiting list which is testament to the instructors and the effort they put in.”

“Staff always very approachable and helpful. Centre very clean. Outside car park could be tidier but maybe not their responsibility. Hours of Swim for Fitness suit me. Water temperature perfect. Thank you for this service.”

“I mainly use the facilities for gym and swim... The gym is well equipped, with a huge variety of machinery, weights, etc. The swimming pool and leisure pool i use for recovery after the gym, and enjoy the sessions.”

“The laned swimming is a bit of a joke, the fast and medium swimmers should be separated. You can't get a good swim without the so called medium swimmers either getting in the way or just ruining a set by pushing off right in front of you when you go to turn.”

“Staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are kept in good working order. One small concern is that when a facility is out of order for example the steam room last week, there is no notice of this on the booking page of the website so you book the facility to use it and find it is not available when you get there which is not ideal and I would have thought easily avoidable.”

Hi Neil Thank you for your 5 star review. We appreciate your feedback. As a valued, regular customer you will be aware that we are experiencing some problems with our steam room and from hour to hour it can be difficult to say if it will be functioning properly or not. As the booking also includes the Sauna we tend to not remove it, however you make a valid point and we will try to find a solution with our I.T department to keep customers up to speed with its availability.
