About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“good number of exercise classes available sign in machines hardly ever work - its so frustrating that you have to end up queuing at reception to get swiped in to your booked class good variety of gym equipment but the gym needs regular cleaning by and around the equipment as lots of dirt and rubbish has built up. Also I think there needs to be max numbers in the gym - it doesnt seem to be controlled - also perhaps a separate gym for teenagers so they can sit chat and socialise”

“Staff are very good, friendly and approachable. Water in pool and changing rooms are cold. This is the main complaint. Also shower door needs to be fixed it has been broken for many months .”

We have taken note of your comments regarding the cold water in the pool and changing rooms. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Rest assured, we monitor and test our shower temperatures to make sure they are within the parameters. Additionally, we apologize for the broken shower door. We understand the frustration that this may have caused for the past few months. “Overall happy with my membership- friendly and helpful staff, good choice of sessions on timetable. Only negative is the changing rooms always seem to be a bit dirty, and when I’ve been two/three days in a row there is still dirt/rubbish/items such as hair bands on the floor in the same place.”

“Staff members are very professional and friendly. It's a pleasure to use this facility in Ross-on-Wye. Just one improvement for me personally would be to change the on line booking system "time" . Currently the booking system is open for bookings 2 weeks in advance from 7.am, it would be very welcommed if this could be 7.30am or 8.00am”

Hi Jill, We appreciate the lovely feedback and the amazing five star review. In terms off the booking sheet, the time that people are able to book is set to 7am and this gives everyone a fair chance to book in. Being a member entitles you to two weeks advanced booking whereas if you are not a member then you can only book a week in advance, we will still look into ways of possibly improving our booking system and keep our customers up to date. “Leominster Halo is a good gym, the staff are friendly and helpful. The showers could be cleaned more often and only half the gym equipment was updated recently, the other half needs it too. Hopefully that will be happening soon. The kettlebell set needs replacing/adding to as well.”

“I really love the group classes, super instructors and great variety. I would love to have a Monday evening Pilates session. Also the pool sessions are really well arranged. Wonderful local service to have. Keep up the excellent work 👏”
