About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

I love the classes. The dance, Zumba and aqua classes are very good. Class instructors excellent.. I enjoy the circuits for 50 plus also the though hate the way it is so difficult to book in advance.. Don't like...the way classes are sometimes dropped at the last moment without cover. Even though the attendees have been warned by usual instructor in advance Also... cleaning huge issue. The pool changing rooms are really yuck.. Old plasters and tissues and unidentified stuff around the pool itself. Changing rooms really horrible . Showers full of hair and the cubicles never wiped down.Drains need regular deep cleaning, they often smell

Staff are flawless and faultless here. Amazing team that work here. However, equipment is extremely outdated and some doesn’t even work. Please update the equipment

All the staff in Ross-on-Wye are amazing. I only started swimming again 12 months ago and from day 1 they have always been welcoming, friendly and encouraging. I have limited mobility so need to use the 'basket' to get into and out of the pool. They never complain or 'raise their eyebrows' when they see me coming, we have a laugh and even when it broke down they put in place a contingency plan to get me out safely. They are all brilliant, thank you for employing such amazing people.

On the whole my experience is a good one. I have several gripes that I feel u should raise. I enjoy Aqua fit. The classes are Monday to Friday with 2 on a Thursday and nothing on Friday. Whenever someone is on leave or doesn’t show up, the class is cancelled because the instructor is not replaced. I find this annoying as do all the people who enjoy the class. The attitude of the management is lethargic to say the least. What’s wrong with a class on Friday as well? If people are p. Leave fill the class with someone else. It’s not a difficult class to teach. I could do it with my eyes closed. Also it would be nice to have a varied programme with a different instructor for every class. One in particular is boring and never changes her programme.

The pool is always in immaculate condition and the dressing room and shower are very well heated. So convenient too that one can enjoy a swim as early as 7.00am. An excellent young staff who are helpful at all times.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and gym facilities were good. The reason for leaving was due to repeat parking charges, out of principle I was not prepared to keep paying charges, especially when the charges were against vehicles registered to my membership.

The car park at Hereford Leisure Pool is a council car park so there for customers, members and staff need to pay for car parking when using the centre. Well started off positively, great local gym with the services that were acceptable given the locality to my home. However its poorly ran with minimal supervision of younger people using the gym resulting in hordes of children messing with the equipment. Then there was the refit that took away a lot of machines which caused wait times for what was left. Then there was the every increasing prices but what was rapidly becoming a bad option. To top it all off i was told that should i want to leave i could at anytime and just needed to cancel my direct debit which i did and stopped using the gym immediately having switched to puregym only to be now being chased for £40 and having had no response from the gym manager!

Always very clean, plenty of staff around to help at the Torfaen-Pontypool location. Few niggles: 1. Poor Online Booking Journey for Nofio Swimmers My daughter attends swim lessons. I can't book her to join a public/family swim online. One member of staff advised it's ok to book her under 4 (free) until the issue gets resolved. Another member of staff had borderline told me off, and demanded I call to book instead. I did state this isn't always possible with working hours, telephone availability etc. 2. Not Enough Viewing Weeks/Info As stated, my daughter attends swimming lessons. It's difficult to assist her in moving up classes when we don't know what they're learning and what techniques. Typically kids always say "I don't know". If we could have more viewing weeks, or videos online for techniques to help, this would be amazing! 3. Flexible Options Again swimming lesson related, my daughter attends every-other Saturday due to me having 2 jobs and being a single parent. I'm still paying full price, for lessons every week. Feeding this back for more flexibility.

The big pool is too cold. Staff do not give enough information to customers when booking. For example they do not advise customers that the small pool is not open until 11:30 when they have paid for public swim from 11am.

The pool used to be warmer , it was usually 29-30 degrees. I joined because of this because I am disabled and cannot swim a lot and need to used the pool to walk about. The cold temperature makes it difficult to stay in long.

Friendly staff, not always able to use computer and drainage in the ladies changing rooms needs sorting out. Brilliant Aquafit thanks to Jodi who has kept us in good shape

In general my experience of using the swimming pool facilities for both lane swimming and Aquafit classes is good. The staff are both friendly and helpful. I am pleased to see that the shower area in the ladies changing facility has recently been cleaned with the mould and dirt that has built up on the walls and floor removed. Now it would be useful if the drain could be cleaned and fixed so that the excess water, which those using the facility sweep from the changing area floor, can go down the drain and the extractor fan vent in the shower area gets cleaned on a regular basis.
