About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Still work to be done leaks in gents swimming charging rooms locker need updateing and the bottom of pool needs a clean”

“Very good. Staff are brilliant and kind Jets in the hot tub in health suite seem to not be working properly? I had noticed the changing rooms no longer smell of urine when near/walking past the toilets which is great, keep it up. It helps make the changing rooms feel more clean, even if it is just a smell”

“I only joined so I could use the sauna in cwmbran, but it's been broken for years and I have to travel to pontypool when I want one now. Not a happy customer.”

“I have been to Pontypool ALC a few times since Halo has taken over. Your staff on the reception are absolutely wonderful; friendly & helpful. From helping to get drinks stuck in the vending machine to assisting me with registering on the new app, all brilliant. Nothing too much trouble. We don't live in Pontypool, we live in Blaenau Gwent but they don't have any quiet ASD sessions so we have been coming to Pontypool on a Fri afternoon and are so impressed with how organised everything is. Thankyou for a brilliant service and kind, caring staff. We will be continuing to visit your quiet session every Friday afternoon. Thankyou so much for thinking of children / people who need this session.”

“Now steam room is working again and classes are very good, aquafit Monday and Wednesday my favourite. Staff are always helpful and pleasant. Good value for money if you are a member”

“I attend Torfaen Not Pyle! The pool is too cold except last Thursday but water was low due to power cut. It was very choppy and hard to swim in.”

“I love the aqua aerobics classes with Claire and Bettina in Pontypool . However the changing facilities in Pontypool are always dirty ..they need a good deep clean and then daily monitoring .”

“Recently it has been extremely hard to book classes due to the change in systems . What needs to be recognised is the amazing attitude shown by staff dealing with current issues that are still not resolved. I would like too thank these staff at this time .”

“Pontypool has far more superior facilities than Cwmbran. The water is a great temperature where as Cwmbran is very cold in entering the water and the changing rooms can be very wet and dirty.”

“Lovely cheerful staff, the pool was lovely and clean, as we're the changing rooms and showers. The lifeguard gave my 2 year old granddaughter some toys to play with in the water which made her very happy. A lovely hour spent having fun.”

“I've been using the Centre for several years. Staff are friendly and try to help if needed. The facilities are good. Unfortunately they do not take cash which has limited me and the children often. Another cold shower would be useful as there is only one and more people are trying cold showers.”
