About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“The Halo centre is good however I have asked if I can just pay monthly for just swimming but was told you can't do this so might have to rethink my membership.”

“Some good classes for the older members, but not sufficient as they are always overbooked. Also, very short on free parking wjilst using the fasculities”

“I like the gym, I like the pool 🏊‍♂️ It is a shame the sauna and Jacuzzi have gone BUT WORST IS -NO INTERNET”

“Jack and the team at the Severn Centre are always approachable and generally very helpful. If l have one criticism it is that the toilets and changing rooms could do with done general maintenance such as locks on doors etc Also would benefit from a steam clean once a week or more in the busy season”

“Very good in the main. Instructors still not teaching to wipe down kit after use and not enforcing as sometimes it isn't clean. Some members of staff are doing their best to keep up with the cleaning”

The studio for our centre is of adequate size and the numbers per square are set to allow customers the space to move during the fitness classes. “I use the hydrotherapy pool and the disabled room. I do feel that the changing room is in need of some repair mostly the toilet. The hydrotherapy pool itself it's nearly always cold. Where it should be warm. I feel that there could be able extra disabled changing rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful.”

“The center was good but found it hard to get to the times it’s open as in early in the morning, as a lot of people can then train before work. This works better when you have young families.”
