About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Great staff, really helpful. Disheartened by other guests that don't adhere signs to remove shoes on entering pool changing rooms despite the over shoe covers provided. Also, other guests leaving belongings in cubicles very frustrating. I'm sure they would be first to complain if something went missing from their belongings”

“Very happy with the pool, but the changing area and toilets could do with a really thorough clean - the tiles and grouting look filthy, unhygienic and very off putting. Would love for the sauna/steam room/jacuzzi facilities to reopen. Also, during swimming lessons I've noticed that a lot of parents reserve changing cubicles by leaving their belongings in there for the entirety of the lesson. This makes it frustrating to find a free cubicle - could you please ask parents not to do this?”

However, we sincerely apologise for the cleanliness issues you've encountered in the changing area. Your comments are important, and we'll make sure to address this with our external cleaning team right away. Regarding the changing cubicles during swimming lessons, we understand how frustrating that can be. “I have been going to Aquafit for 17 years & only left as we have moved from the area. Cassie is great. I have made lovely friends & there is a great atmosphere. Booking is a nightmare, having to be a member to book ahead & having to get up at 7am to book on line before the slots go. Also, I do not understand why you have to give a month's notice to stop your membership. When you are moving you have no idea a month in advance when your move date will be, in our case it was only a few days.”

“Centre is good , disappointed that your rates keep rising but such is life . I packed up my membership cos I've grown out of going to the gym full stop . Time is precious and I can find better ways to use it . Thanks for the use of your gym for the last 10 - 15 yrs whatever it is”

“Ynysawdre Halo centre is great, close to where I live and plenty of classes to keep me busy! I especially like the Spin class on a Monday with Mel.. I only gave 4 stars, as quite often there are pieces of gym equipment which are out of order for weeks at a time. It would be great if these could be repaired/ replaced. Overall, great centre and I am the fittest I have been for years. Thank you.”
