About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“I have been really disappointed with the swimming experience at Halo Leominster in the past couple of years. The timetable is really limited, with needing to book specific (short) sessions, and as a ‘guest’ the booking system online is hopeless - it appears you can only book a ‘standard’ place, I have under 3s - why should I pay over £6 when they should be free? If there is a way around this, I (and I consider myself reasonably tech literate) cannot work it out. Turning up without booking is a risk, and I have experienced disgruntled responses from the staff at the kiosk when I say I’ve not booked, even when there is space. We’d much prefer to support our local leisure centre, but sadly we’ve resorted to going further for swimming at a pool where you can turn up anytime during a longer swim session and don’t need to book. I like the pool itself and, prior to the short individual swim sessions and bookings being introduced, and reception being removed, I enjoyed the experience of swimming at Leominster. I’m truly disappointed this is no longer the case.”

“Lovely customer service, the centre was good. The pool / toilets / cubicles could've done with being cleaned a bit better however thoroughly enjoyed our time as a family swimming and soft play. It's great to have both attractions under the same roof.”

“My husband, myself and our little boy regularly visit Hereford leisure pool. Our little boy enjoys going and has a blast! Everything is used and there’s plenty to do for him. I would say there needs to be more baby changing rooms as there are only four and two family rooms and too many single ones where there’s not enough room to change a toddler or baby. On the visits we have had, some parts of the changing areas are not kept well. These could be down to an Oder. Overall though, the main swimming area is used well and has plenty of staff present to support the swimmers when needed.”

“Helen Lewis is an exceptional teacher and worth every penny, she is the soul of Halo Bridgnorth. Helen Thomas also excellent. . Kieran at front of house and in supporting the other teaching staff is a real asset. Cleaning issues need to be addressed by brining back a resident cleaner. Having Mel Tolley trained in Aquafot at Bridgnorth has been a real bonus.”

“Love the classes, and use the gym, all trainers are helpful and experienced and make the classes hard but enjoyable. Really get a good workout. Only criticism is the toilets and shower facilities could be cleaner.”

“Leominster Halo maintains Lovely, Clean, & Tidy Premises, & maintains Nice, Friendly, & Helpful Staff. However, some improvements would be most welcomed as many Swimming Lockers have Locks & Wrist Bands missing so you’re unable to lock your clothing / handbag, or valuables away. It would also be nice to reinstate a Clock on the wall at the shallow end of the pool & this would prove most welcomed by swimmers if another new / old clock could be found.”
