About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“The dance fitness class is excellent but is really hard to get on as fully booked as soon as the booking opens. The cardio dance class is very repetive and the routine doesn't get changed that often. The car park is constantly busy and you never seem to get a parking space.”

“It is good except they never sweep or wash the squash court floor, so every time you pick the ball up it is covered in dirt and there are mountains for dust and fluff floating around as you run around, not pleasant.”

“We use it for the lunch-time lane swimming slot - I like it for the full length pool (25m), friendly staff and reasonably priced, including parking.”

“Bright and cheerful venue. Small changing room (for gym users) but fine for the number of users, always clean and tidy with good shower. Today, as on most visits, all gym equipment was working and the area was clean and tidy. Not too busy at 9 - 11am so easy to use all the apparatus I wanted for my workout.”

“Sometimes the toilets are not as clean as they should be; maybe they need to be checked more frequently? I use the gym. Ryan is always very attentive and keeps everything clean. The new equipment is very good and things are rarely out of order these days. The gym is quieter in the mornings when the teenagers are in school/college! Halo is good value.”

“Mel runs great Pilates classes. She is very welcoming and friendly and is mindful of people with injuries or ongoing issues and adapts the activities for those individuals. She is a real asset to your team!”
