About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Really good, if it wasn't for hywel I wouldn't of gained the confidence to leave the tredmill and use the machines and the free weights”

“Equipment that was not working as well as it should failed to be replaced and even after repair only lasted a couple of weeks before failing again. A shame you lost a customer on this matter. There is a lot of competion in the gym market with at least 3 further gyms within the town”

“Pencoed Swimming Pool and Gym is a small venue but quite adequate for the size of the town. The pool is well used and offers various sessions. The gym is small but has a range of equipment and some space to do floor excercise. The staff and trainers are friendly and very helpful.”
