About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Halo swimming pool and gym are superb. It is a great place to relax and train. It feels safe, clean and friendly. There is a good range of equipment. Staff are particularly helpful and undrstanding.”

“Equipment is tired and often either not working or sounds as though it shouldn’t be used. Screens on the rowing machines don’t work, treadmills aren’t even on the floor, floors are often dirty either small stones etc, generally feeling and looking rundown. WiFi connection often not working which affects the scan and go, access into the gym, the bodies machine and the access in general for the customer. The flip side to this is the classes and great and staff lovely.”

“It's great to have such a high quality gym so close to home. The recent update to all of the equipment has been great, there's even more choice and every machine is brand new and working perfectly. The place is always clean and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Dan has been especially helpful with PT sessions every month or so.”

“Pool needs a really good clean! All around the edges of pool and especially under the steps in the shallow end are encrusted with grime! A few staff members aren’t very welcoming and water was quite cold. Could be a lovely pool again if these issues were addressed”

“Halo gym is perfect for my day to day exercise needs, for a small gym it has all the main equipment and facilities I would need and it is very good value for money, whilst being right on my doorstep. I have also had very positive experiences with the staff, they are always very friendly and approachable.”

“Generally good facility, would be nice to have a few more later swim sessions around the 8pm or so as a Monday. Staff friendly, but cleaning of changing rooms sometimes could be better following swimming lessons when parents have had outdoor shoes on.”

“I attend the exercise classes every week. The instructors are amazing, they are friendly and encouraging making each class enjoyable. There are a good variety of classes to suit everyone. I thoroughly recommend the Bromyard Centre to all my friends.”

“The staff are very professional and helpful. I love the variety of classes on offer and the ease of booking classes in the app. It would be good if the swimming pool was available for a quick swim before and after classes. The small exercise room could use a little TLC. It's very dark.”

“Overall I'm pleased with my local Halo Leisure centre in Leominster It meets my requirements with what I am hoping to achieve for my fitness & health I still have some niggles & disappointments from when I joined a year ago and these have not improved Most staff are friendly and approachable but there are a few individuals who are not like this coming across as disinterested in their customers Cleanliness could be improved particularly in the swimming pool area which I use every week”

“Disappointed to find that there is no longer a customer available Wi-Fi connection at Tenbury. There was previously under Freedom. I will miss this as I am pay as you go on my phone and listen to podcasts during exercise.”
