Crazy Color® was launched in 1977 in the midst of the punk rock explosion in Britain. In a time that anarchy and free expression ruled supreme, one hairstylist was growing tired of the same natural color palette. Renato Brunas was at the height of his hairdressing career and was set to push the boundaries of color even further when he developed a new range of rainbow shades. “I am in my 60s and my hair is going white at the front still brown everywhere else. I applied rose gold Crazy Color to the white area, having followed instructions to wash and towel dry hair. and left it on for 30 minutes. Results were disappointing - a barely discernible pinkish tinge in good light. My hairdresser then applied burgundy streaks to the brown/grey areas and again we left it on for 30 mins. Results were better, subtle but noticeable. I'll continue to use it up but it's a pity the rose gold doesn't really show.”

“Found the colour came out more blue than purple luckily it washed out with no problems after a few washes. The consistency of the dye was fine but wouldn't buy this shade again”

Some of our recommended aftercare tips are to not wash your hair for 48hrs after dying. Use a good shampoo and conditioner when you do that's kind to color (such as our own). However, there is more information available on our website.

“I used these as an alternative to a colour I use but couldn't get hold of. I absolutely love the consistency, the unbelievable brightness! It is a tad messy but that is probably in part due to being used to using a different consistency. I will definitely buy more.”

To prevent the color from washing out of your hair we recommend not washing your hair for 48hrs after dying. Use a good shampoo and conditioner when you do that's kind to color (such as our own) and only wash hair a max of two times a week and always in cold water.

“Never using again. Stained my cuticle. Now have an awful mint green colour that I can’t remove for love no money. Usually remove very easily but the blues are stubborn and stain. :( also stained my BATH,grout,hands,body when washing it off! My nails are still stained weeks later. Awful!”

Unfortunately, the normal precautions when applying hair dye are still required with all of our colors; although they are semi-permanent are still a dye. Blue shades are renowned for staining and being extra difficult to remove. There are several home remedies for removing stains; however, if you would like any more guidance please contact our customer service team.

“These colours really are crazy. Not only are they vibrant but they have also died my entire body and bathroom in the wash out process. After about a week it has began to go streaky. Really disappointed as I love the colours. This was the black and the green that was used.”
