About Crazy Color:

Crazy Color® was launched in 1977 in the midst of the punk rock explosion in Britain. In a time that anarchy and free expression ruled supreme, one hairstylist was growing tired of the same natural color palette. Renato Brunas was at the height of his hairdressing career and was set to push the boundaries of color even further when he developed a new range of rainbow shades. Thus Crazy Color® was born and over 40 years later our ethos is the same, we want you to express yourself unapologetically. In every iconic pink bottle is a color that is ready to turn heads. Don‘t be the trend make your own. Mix it your way to create a shade to match your style. Our range has expanded to 41 colors over the years and each decade gathers new fans. “I brought Marshmallow , my hair is bleached and the colour still does not show up on it... will not buy again ... Waste of money”

“Both colours were completely different inside the bottle to how they were previously. The bubblegum blue especially was more of a capri blue with purple undertones. This has upset me and will not be using your hair dye again”

We recommend lightening to level 9 or 10 (blonde) before application to achieve rich violet hair. This will also ensure that there is no remaining color in the hair that may impact the result. There is also a digital shade chart available on our website on each product page for guidance.

“Didn’t take to my hair not a sign of pink”

Hi, thank you for the review; we really appreciate it. Sorry, that you had a negative experience using our product. There are many factors that may have caused the dye not to take to your hair such as the condition or porosity of it.

“Got the violette, wanted a purple with blue undertones. Instead I got blue hair similar to capri blue. Maybe got a dodgy batch because I do love crazy colour products. The photo is my hair roughly 2 hours after it was dyed.”

Hi Jess, thank you for the review; we really appreciate it. Sorry that you are not happy with the result after using Violette. We recommend when using this shade for hair to be a level 9 or 10 (blonde) before application. This shade does have blue undertones and if any other tones or color remains in the hair on when applying, it may impact the result. We hope this experience will not put you off from using our products in the future. One of our other purple shades with blue undertones that might be more suited to you is Hot Purple.

“I ordered four different hair dyes, I only received three. I left a message and haven't heard anything. I was refunded for the conditioner but not the hair dye... The dyes I did receive are lovely colours and last quite a while.”

Our hair color with the correct aftercare should last up to 8-12 washes. Some of our recommended aftercare tips are to not wash your hair for 48hrs after dying. Use a good shampoo and conditioner when you do that's kind to color. However, there is more information available on our website. “Silver does nothing at all, my hair is white blonde, I left it on for the recommended thirty minutes and I had a slight ashy tone to my hair. Iced mauve is much better but washes out really fast.”

We recommend lightening your hair to level 9 or 10 (blonde) before using Emerald Green. However, it is also suitable for level 8 (light brown) hair, but the results will only be tonal. The result may have also been a different shade due to any remaining color in the hair.

Fire is our brightest red and due to several factors such as any existing color in the hair, the result may slightly differ to our shade chart. We do have a wide variety of other red shades that may be more to your liking.

“Only half the order arrived. Customer service sorted this quickly which is why this review is higher than one star. The shampoo does not lather and gives a poor clean. The conditioner does not work well on my hair, it feels dry and brittle after use”
