At 70, arthritic knees & 6 stents were restricting my cycling & I bought an electric offroad bike. Brilliant! Didn't want to sell my road bike which I had built myself around a Ridley Orion carbon fibre frame so went for Swytch in 2021 after seeing +ve press reviews. 4 month delivery time was fine when balanced against discount. Had two major problems: 1 - Axle flats had to be filed down accurately to fit 8 mm drop-outs. This was not easy and took over an hour - it should be an option when ordering as much better when preofessionally machined. 2 - Sensor could not be fitted to carbon fibre frame as the bottom bracket housing is much thicker than a metal frame. Swytch provided a new sensor that fitted into the bottom bracket, but I still had to cut away the splines on the crank disc to fit it onto the boss of the crankset to avoid the sensor and disc from touching. After a test ride, an extra cable-tie was found to be needed to hold the sensor in place. Other than these (major) issues fitting was straightforward and neat. I'm also happy with component quality, though disappointed it's produced in China, not UK. I've now ridden around 700 kms locally on hilly roads and am very pleased with performance. The motor only kicks in on hills or when starting off (my average speed is 27 km/hr overall and 32 km/hr on the flat) and I only generally use the lowest setting, so the battery range is much more than the 50 km quoted - about 20-25% down after a ride of 25 km. Instead of struggling up hills at 8-15 km/hr, I now swan up them at 18-22 km/hr! Compared with my purpose built E-bike, it doesn't have the same range, but it is more than adequate and the system is much lighter. It is also less easy to increase the power setting while riding, but I rarely need to do this and, of course there is less info on the display (no remaining distance, etc). Another unexpected issue was that my wireless computer stopped working due to interference from the Swytch system, so I had to fit a new wired computer. Having overcome the initial fitting issues, I'm very pleased overall and it enabled me to keep riding a great bike at about 15-20% of the cost of an equivalent purpose made E-bike. Swytch were also very helpful with the issues I had, although a bit more ingenuity was needed than I expected!

No bike repair shop in Amsterdam would fit the system to my bike so I spent over a grand on it but it’s just stayed in the cupboard for 2.5 years

Unfortunately neither of my bikes was compatible with the Swytch kit (it doesn't fit any bike like it says/ implies on the advert. On my old bike the distance between the forks was too narrow to accommodate the motor, on my newer bike they couldnt provide the correct size wheel and said I would need to either build the wheel myself or find a local bike shop to do it (my local bike shops declined as they did not feel comfortable using 3rd party parts to build an ebike wheel). In the end I bought an ebike from a different company

I am pleased with the overall with the installation but battery life is definitely not as good as I would have expected. Still testing but something I may have to seek advice from Swytch. An issue with the wheel sizing was very well supported by customer service and a credit to Swytch. The install is neat and tidy on my folding bike. Overall a good product.

The ordering process is very complex and painfully long. It's also convoluted to get to speak to a person. The advice you get from SWYTCH is awful. I ordered a SWYTCH kit for my folding bike, only to find when it arrived it it was not compatible with disc brakes, even though the order system had allowed me to add an extra, "hydraulic disc brake sensors" to the order, there was no point in the process when either the system or a person realised something may be wrong with this order as due to the kit not being compatible with disc brakes, yet an order being places for disc brake sensors. At no point in the process was it made clear the folding bike kit would not be compatible with a disc brake bike, they advertise as being able to convert any bike into a SWYTCH bike, this is not the case. Disc brakes on folding bikes are a lot more common than rim brakes. The absurd advice from SWYTCH was to reach out to my local bike shop and simply have the brakes changed to rim brakes, which would be a major downgrade in brake quality. The first shop, wouldn't entertain this idea or anything related to SWYTCH bike, another quoted £500 for the change, and another required, £100 to even look at the bike and check if this change was possible, and not to mention this change would have invalidated any remaining warranty I had on my bike. I was left with no option but to request a full refund and return the kit that I'd been waiting 3 months for.

Multiple connections (12 contacts) into the battery pack are a critical weak point. A bad contact can and does kill the controller. keeping the contacts spotless is the only way to keep it reliable. I completely redesigned my Switch kit by mounting the controller permanently on the bike, and connecting just the DC feed through new plugs from the battery pack. This fixed everything and I've since cycled thousands of miles without issue. It might be Switch now have it sorted, but my fix was 100% solid.

My boyfriend built the electric bike for me, and he said that the assembly was easy and the manual was easy to follow. However, one of the issues with the bike is that it becomes quite heavy, which could be improved. Additionally, it would be helpful if a bag was included to carry the battery pack. As a woman, I don't have pockets that are long enough to fit the battery. Therefore, a lockable pack or something that can be installed on the bike to reduce the risk of theft would be great. Lastly, it would be helpful to have a feature on the screen that displays the time or battery warning.

Nice battery pack and mounting click system bracket. The battery delivers what is Advertised, about 30 km assist on my folder 16” wheels. What was a pain are the supplied” universal” magnet mounts, impossible to fit on my XTR cranks, had to be creative and experiment with custom cast plastic Attachment pieces to fit on a complex shape crank. There has to be a better and more reliable way than plastic zippties! I am shure it works on a simple basic crank. Otherwise works fine once this was resolved.

I paid for the longer transit and the shipment arrived down to NZ after three months. The packaging was excellent and there was no damage. The big issue was the difficulty I experienced putting the kit together on my mountain bike. Eventually I got there, although I had to get a new disc front brake.

Use of my preferred frame was really cool, but customer service kinda sucked. I had issues with battery power and many messages accomplished zero. They just kept describing how it is supposed to function, instead of listening to the customer telling them about electrical misfunction, or no function at all. Unfortunately, a school bus crashed with bike and ruined the ride and I must retain bicycle, as is, for evidence of wreck. I cannot help but wonder if the kit had a fault, which contributed to the accident.?

Generally very happy with the Swytch Bike, which I have had for two years. The range of the battery is only 10 miles, if use full-time on its lowest setting, but I tend to only use the battery to assist with hills, strong winds, or both, and so am able to do trips of 20 miles plus, without using the battery. I am now awaiting a new Go battery with a claimed 40 mile range, which will be very useful. Two gripes about Swytch. First, delivery times. Neither with my original kit nor the Go system on order, has the delivery time stated at the time of order been met. Given that the time between order and stated deliver is always several months, one would have thought the logistics could be better organised. Secondly, the instructions for fitting the kit were not as clear as they could have been. I worked out what to do in the end, but only by trial and error. For example, I filed down the forks on the bike to fit the front wheel, before coming across an instruction to file down the bolt on wheel to fit the fork. Overall, good value, but room for improvement in terms of fitting instructions and delivery dates.

The service for delivery was good. The product itself is easy to install. A rear wheel option would be better. Product quality, the bracket for the standard display seems weak. The first one I had broke on the first ride. After pressing hte button I noticed the unit move, I went to tighten it up and the plastic had shattered. The customer service to replace the part was good. A free replacement was sent and it has lasted a few rides since without issue. Maybe just an unfortunate flaw in the first product.

The purchasing process was a little confusing. I was invited to purchase extras but it was not clear what came as standard. I ended up buying an extra charger (when I should have bought an extra battery) and brake sensors (which I could not see how to fit, and I don't think I need them). The motor only works when I am peddling (so it is important to get into a low gear before I stop on a hill). The motor sometimes doesn't appear to make much difference but then I remember I could not have cycled up the hill without the Swytch kit.

Price and installation were great! My only disappointment is that my battery and sensor light give different readings!

Regular contact from Swytch whilst awaiting on schedule delivery. Fitting of components not as straightforward as videos suggest - modification required to pedal sensor to fit onto bike frame. Good on line response to installation queries. In operation there is a discrepancy between battery charge indication and controller / display indication. Despite having the MAX battery the range is far less than expected particularly when operated at minimum setting. Also, assistance cuts out and is intermittent when battery indicator shows three lights or less.

I am happy with end result but my biggest complaint is the slow response time to activate the electric motor and the fact you have to hold your thumb in on the button for at least 4 to 6 seconds to switch on. I should have chosen the 30 km battery. I will order the thumb control. The early controller failure a bit disappointing and getting it resolved took too long. As I’ve mentioned before the fact I was originally invoiced in 3 different currencies was strange and caused me to be overcharged. I found the original pedal sensor wheel ran eccentrically ( had a new one made). Delivery was slower than originally promised by 3 months approximately. Controller lights hard to see in sunlight.

Haven’t had this swytch kit for over a year or just over a year. The only thing I would say I’m disappointed in is the battery. Plus, I think not enough fault was put into where you mount the battery on a Brompton bike plus the pedal pick up

Very slow delivery. We're talking many months overdue. The thing eventually arrives and its a CHEAP e-bike kit. Useful for the first 1000km but then issues start arising. I've ridden this as my commuter on normal UK roads and I have found these problems. The motor makes a knocking noise which you don't get from better quality motors and the spokes of the wheel are built with CHEAP aluminium so they flex and bend and spoke nipples eventually come undone causing the wheel to become untrue. I have fixed this at my LBS multiple times but the only permanent solution is to have the whole wheel rebuilt with stronger materials which costs hundreds. The MAX Battery is acceptable range but wheel quality is terrible, all the extra's cost ridiculous amounts more which you don't find out until after paying your deposit. Basic "extra's" such as a display and black paint on the wheel to match the bike cost me an additional £130. Delivery is another £50. Save yourself money and buy a better quality product.
