“I learnt about premier TEFL over the internet whilst looking for languages employment. The information they provided really caught my attention so I signed up. The application process ended up taking several hours and continuous contact with the support staff was required to even submit the application. After my rejection, they would not give me a reason as to why. However, the staff were helpful.”

“The course modules are very useful and relevant, explaining things clearly and systematically. My only grievance has been with how overpriced it is to buy additional bundles/extensions. Premier TEFL consequently come across excessively financially-driven. I feel that I get somewhat bombarded with promotional emails, too.”

“The upside of premier TEFL is the support before leaving, plus it is a good and easy way to find a job which is hard to do in a foreign country. The downside is that it is very expensive to apply for the internship, and the pay was very, very bad considering the high cost of living in Brazil, so unless you have a lot of money saved up it is difficult to travel during your work abroad. The other issue was the lack of communication between TEFL and the English school, since the school was very disorganized it caused a lot of issues. All that said, when I arrived I had a host family and a job from day 1, which would probably have taken me a month to set up on my own.”

We really appreciate your honest feedback about your experience 💙Internships are a great way to get into the TEFL world for first time teachers, typically shorter internship contract commitments mean that pay is lower as the trade off. We'll work harder to let people going to Brazil know that they need to budget more savings 💰to make life more comfortable.

“I've found the company extremely helpful when contacted, they provide support right up until you arrive in China. However the reason I am rating the company 3 stars is the pay - after enquiring about the approximate salary one should get paid here, I would not advise going through Premier TEFL. If you are the type of person that requires a safety net upon arrival in a strange country then by all means (they are a very organised company) however I slightly regret it.”

Hi Luke, thanks for your kind words about our team 💙it truly means a lot to everyone. For sure, single semester internships in China that are open to non degree holders have a low pay 💵compared to jobs available on the z visa. Having a degree 🎓is key to getting a great salary in China. As a first time teacher experience, the all-inclusive and supported internship is a winner for so many. I'm sorry to hear your regret at having chosen the internship route...but now you're on the TEFL adventure the 🌏is your oyster!

“Although I can see there has been a lot of work done on the course, I regret to say it looks really underfulfilled. Lots of tautologies and unfinished thoughts in every module, the tasks sometimes lack logic, e.g. Activity 1 in Module 1.8 claims that the activity "A teacher praises her student for giving the correct answer" is based on Behaviorism. This implies that praising students is an exclusive feature of Behaviorist theory and is not possible in the other two being considered there (as they are the wrong answers to this question). Also Quiz Module 1, question 3 (There is a specific English language exam for which group of professionals?) accepts "Lawyers" as the correct answer, but does not accept "Sailors", in spite of the fact that the they have to take two English language exams: ISF Marlins and TOSE. Some points in further modules don't comply with official TKT materials, and so on.”

“The overall content was simple and straightforward. I had hoped for a more in-depth advancement of my understanding of IELTS and perhaps additional strategies. I feel overall the general points were covered very simply. Perhaps best indicated by the fact it took me at most 10 hours to complete the course, more likely around only 6, for a supposed 30 hour intensive course. A basic primer for IELTS test taking instruction, hopefully at least the credential gained opens up some job opportunities.”

“I was glad that the course was offered entirely online and that I could work at my own pace. I wish the layout of the website, texts and material provided was more user friendly and also more hands-on rather than theoretical. The test was quite hard to follow and it was hard to stay attentive. I would prefer to have more videos, more practical tips and tools to use. It would be nice to see different teaching styles and techniques to inspire from. The quiz was based on memory and didn´t really focus on how the acquired knowledge can be used in real life. Everyone I interacted with was very helpful and willing to take time to help. I wish there was more interaction with real teachers and more knowledge exchange.”

“Learned a lot. However some chapters were incredibly long and detailed while other later chapters were short and repetitive. Some of the quiz questions were marked with half points, without clear explanation. Had atleast 2 quiz questions that were for the next chapter, that we had not covered. It was good value for money though as got it on sale. But did have some trouble setting up account in the beginning, wouldn't recognise username/password. Frustrating for about an hour but had someone help me in the end. Over all 3/5”

“I would have gave a 5 but for my interaction with someone named Kate that works for you on chat. I asked her to correct my grade on Module 2 where I got 9 and received a 85% instead of 90. She told me I passed and would not respond then disappeared. Can you fix that?”

“Premier TEFL made me happy in the opportunities that were available, and how put together the program was - like I'd be taken care of on this crazy adventure. What actually happened, though, was I paid for the program, and then was left without response from anyone on how to go about the completion. Any phone calls I made, or emails I sent, were never returned. Only when I withdrew myself from the course, questioning the legitimacy of the program, did anyone contact me, and by then it was too late. It also took a full month to receive a refund. I wish this weren't my experience, as I'm sure the course itself is great, but because there was a lack of assistance or care, I was unable to move forward.”

“I do not have an alternative program to compare Premier TEFL with. This was my first attempt to complete certification with any institution and I am glad that it was offered entirely online and that I could work at my own pace. I am disappointed in the layout of the website and the fact that the fonts used in the learning modules were difficult to read and the text was partially obscured so that even with a 24 inch monitor I had to scroll in order to read everything. I believe that the program overall could have been more like a college-style class, perhaps with assignments through video or writing that would be a better gauge of a student's comprehension than the quizzes were. Everyone I interacted with either on the phone or through email has been great and very professional, I wish that I had had more interaction with the people behind the program as their views and experience are helpful for a student who has never taught before.”
