Love the product but was a bit irritated by the passive aggressive response I received when I e mailed to chase up my order. I’d missed a message on the front web page with regards to delayed dispatch dates. Felt a bit unnecessary.

Paid for quick delivery. Would have liked that to be more prompt. Could the balls already be inserted into the string of lights?!

Hi Aynsley, I have just looked into your order and I am sorry you were not happy with the speed of the delivery. Your order was placed on the 5th after 2pm so it was shipped on the 6th which unfortunately because of the weekend you did not receive your order until Monday. We do note that our express is 2 working days. We are a small family run business and getting orders our at the speed of large companies like John Lewis or Amazon is just not possible for us. With regards to putting the balls on the cables this is the fun bit so everyone can design their perfect cable to work with were they plan to hang it. Postage too high for replacement fuses even taking into consideration the argument that C&C have lowered the price of fuses. Just a bit dissapointing as have many cheaper lights where the fuses have lasted far longer.

Lovely lights, can't fault that at all. Speedy & great help customer service wise. But for existing customers who purchased these lights a few years ago with fuses and bulbs that needed replacing, cost of re-buying new LED track lights & plug is expensive.

A little disappointed that the lights don't come with a plug. And it would be nice if they were already assembled for the price that's being paid.

Dear Jennifer, Thank you for your post; the LED cable does have a USB port on it and therefore needs an adapted plug to be able to work. You can use an i-phone/mobile charger if you have one spare, or buy them in electrical stores. As for pre-assembling the cotton balls onto the lights, this is not possible for our packers to do as many customers like to customise the cables to their own design. No email receipt of purchase and I found it slightly galling that having paid £50 for essentially some fairy lights, I then had to assemble them myself.

Dear Anon, Thank you for your post; although an email confirmation is automatically generated at the time of both order placement and shipment, it can sometimes go to junk so perhaps you can check your spam folder as it may have gone there. I do apologise for the inconvenience. I am also sorry that you expected the light set to arrive already assembled. The nature of the product means it does necessitate a high level of packing for the warehouse packers, as each box is made up according to the order (the added cost of then also making the sets up would entail higher costs for the consumer as well). A lot of our customers prefer to make up the sets themselves as they can then choose which order they put the colours in to make their own personalised cable. The product quality is great , the delivery time could be improved. On two occasions I’ve had to enquire about our order. We were informed that demand and supply was a factor and snow! Not a problem, perhaps a more timely email in advance explaining the delay would appease customers. Thank you

Oh dear, had to wait much longer than expected for a replacement string of bulbs. I appreciate that you had a sale on but maybe there should have been additional stock to cope with the demand? However,I've not had this problem with you guys before, so maybe it was a "one off". Sadly they didb't arrive in time for our dinner party as we had already ditched the old non-led string after xmas.

I bought the battery powered 35 cotton ball string of lights but sadly we only get around 4 hours of light before it depletes the battery pack. I have tried other batteries and the exact same happens.

Dear Anon, Thank you for your post; yes, the battery packs power the lights for between 3 - 6 hours depending on how long the cable is. We usually only recommend them for special occasions such as parties and weddings etc, or for camping / clamping trips and picnics. If you use your lights daily it is probably better to plug them into a socket using an adapted mobile phone charger plug. Ordering and the website were great. However when it came to delivery, the driver chucked the box over the back fence without checking whether anyone was in, which we were. Now some of the bulb putters are squashed and damaged. Very disappointed with delivery method.

Received in good order very quickly, but think it’s a shame not to be able to get the white bulbs separately. Also think it’s a bit expensive

Dear Tony, Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback; the bulbs packs have 2 white-tipped fuse bulbs and 5 clear bulbs in each pack as this seems to meet most customers needs. The price used to be £2.95 but we lowered it by £1 to compensate for an increase in p&p charges for this item, to try and keep the cost down for our customers. I love the lights but one of the colours had not had the slice put in them and I had to do this myself, this seems to have been missed in quality control

Dear Karn, Thank you for your post and feedback - I am sorry some of the balls did not have the usual pre-cut slits in them. The cotton balls are all hand-made and should have splits next to the holes but sometimes this does get missed. It is really rare but I do apologise. Cutting slits into the balls next to the hole with a sharp pair of scissors is what we would usually recommend in this case (just as you have already done) but if you do have any balls you feel need replacing please kindly email me at hello@cableandctton.com and I will do my best to help. A bit disappointed, delivery was slow, I thought they would come made, so when I designed them that’s what I thought I would get, I ordered a plug as it seemed you did not get one, and then I end up with two.. having paid an additional 4.95.

Dear Anon, Thank you for your post and feedback - it has been a very busy time for us and I do apologise for the later delivery than usual. The product is self-assmebly as we cannot do this for every order we sent out - it would not be cost / time effective. A lot of our customers like assembling the colours themselves but I do understand that it does not suit everybody. I hope you like your lights once they are assembled. You are correct that you do not get a plug with your order unless you order and pay for one - so you were sent an extra one in error by the warehouse which perhaps you can find a good use for. The lights look really pretty, but I was disappointed that I had to self assemble. The lights would have looked more professional and higher quality had they been assembled by cable and cotton.

Dear Anon, Thank you for your email; I am sorry you did not know that the product is self-assembly. It would not be cost effective for the warehouse staff to thread each cable according to customer orders and would also take a lot of time, which is partly why we do not do it as it would push the cost of the product up. (Lots of customers lao prefer to design their cable themselves once they see the product at home.) I do hope you got used to doing it okay and that the lights look lovely now they are in situ. The lady was unwilling to swap a colour out of an existing set I wanted. It was also slow to be delivered. ( A late birthday present)

I believe I also suggested a way to order it with the colour you wanted as an extra (it has since ran out of stock). As the white fuse bulb has gone on several occasions I would like to just be able to buy fuse bulbs separately and think £3+ postage is rather excessive for such a tiny package.

Thank you for your post - I do understand about the fuse bulbs. The spare bulb packs used to cost £2.95 but the warehouse put the p&p price up from £2.95 to £3.95. We felt that we did not want to pass this cost onto our customers which is why we then reduced the pack of spare bulbs to £1.95 to compensate. This is well below their retail value and so we cannot lower the cost any further. It is unlikely that you will find a retailer who stocks / sells these type of bulbs anymore because we went over to LED lights last year and all our wholesalers now stock these. I am sorry. They are lovely but I found it quite difficult to open to put the light in.. I was terrified I would rip it . Some of my bulbs look dented

Dear Karen, Thank you for your post and feedback. I am sorry that you were terrified of ripping the cotton when you inserted the LED lights - this would be quite hard to do but sometimes the slits on the balls need enlarging because the cotton balls are handmade and sometimes the hole is not wide enough for the LED light. (It is rare though.) You can usually remove a 'dent' in a ball by pulling gently on the LED disc once it is in place.
