“The workshop was great! All children from reception to year 6 were fully engaged. This is the second workshop we have receieved from West End in schools and it gets better every time. We will be booking again! What an amazing project for all children and staff during Shakespeare week. Thank you!”

“Kilke our facilitator was absolutely fantastic and we would have her back again in a heartbeat. The workshops were high energy, informative, creative and enjoyed by all pupils and teachers. It was wonderful to watch it all come together at the end of the day and the pupils had a great time acting in their part of Macbeth. They can all now say that they have performed in a Shakespeare Play! Thank you again West End in Schools, you were fantastic!”

“Children throughout the school, from Reception to Year 6, were highly engaged by an inclusive and exciting range of activities all linked around a core text - in this case, Shakespeare's Macbeth. It was wonderful to see, by the end of a single day, every class able to perform their own distinct part of the story - either through dance, choral speaking, poetry mime or Shakespeare's own verse.”

“I was a little surprised when only one person turned up. But Ashley turned out to be brilliant with our special needs pupils and had them all engaged throughout. A couple of things that could be improved upon is the use of props as it was taken for granted that all pupils knew the story well (where the wild things are) and although the day was for World book day there wasn't a book in sight or props of any kind. Luckily most classes had read the book beforehand. Also the same activities were carried out from Year 1 to Year 6 with no differentiation. Otherwise I could not fault Ashley and his obvious enthusiasm for drama.”

“The only reason for not giving "Very Good", was the price. We understand that it cost a lot to transport someone from London to Aberdeen, however, perhaps if you had more schools to visit in Scotland it could work out cheaper? Actual visit by Kilka was wonderful. She was enthusiastic, interested in what we'd been doing and very flexible. She built on the strengths of our pupils, providing challenge to those who were more able and quietly supported those who were less confident. We are going to use what she did with us at an assembly for parents and the community.”

“My reception class had such a great time during their West End in schools dance workshop. It was based on 'the BFG' and was the perfect way for us to end book week. The dance teacher was fantastic with my children. She explained everything in a way they that they understood and they all responded really well to her. The workshop was pacey, fun and active, keeping the children engaged the whole time. They had a blast and so did I! The parents loved seeing the videos afterwards and all commented on what a great experience their child had had.”

“This was a fantastic day which the children and staff thoroughly enjoyed! It was wonderful to see children, of all ages, actively engaging in Shakespeare in a fun and enjoyable way. “Superb workshops! All the children from Reception to Year 6 enjoyed their workshops and staff could not stop talking about it either. The session was fast paced to keep all the children engaged bu easily accessible by all the children, regardless their ability level, level of English and so on. Thank you so much!”

“We had a throughly enjoyable day. The children explored the chosen books through dance, they were fully engaged and all children participated due to the approach of our dancer Michelle. The day ran extremely efficiently and Michelle was very well prepared and inspired us all. An unexpected benefit of the day was that it provided staff with new ideas to take forward into their PE and Dance lessons. A wonderful day which will definitely repeat. Thank you Michelle.”

“The choreographer was great. Some differentiation between year group would have been helpful. Especially to year r who struggled to keep up with the dancing. On the whole it was great to work with a professional dancer but we are not sure if it was worth the money.”

“A big thank you to West End in Schools for 'Bringing Books to Life' in our school and helping our primary pupils celebrate World Book Day. All our pupils were able to take part in theatre and acting skills workshops when they joined your choreographer James in our drama studio for a performance of 'Where the Wild Things Are' by Maurice Sendak. We had a fantastic two days and we'll certainly be booking again for next year.”

“The organisation and delivery was outstanding! It was made fun and accessible. The children were engaged from start to finish and there was much excitement about the end performance. It was a delight to see the smiles and joy from the children during the workshops and the performance. Every member of staff commented on how wonderful it was! It was well worth the money and we will definitely be booking again!”
