“The children thoroughly enjoyed their 'Bringing Books to Life' workshops, as part of our World Book Day celebrations. Hannah's enthusiastic nature and well organised workshops meant that every child was able to be part of a 'final performance' retelling a story. I was very impressed with the communication of West End in Schools - the day was easy to organise, they accommodated our school-specific requests and the whole team were excellent at confirming arrangements and making sure everything ran smoothly. Highly recommend.”

“Fitted in brilliantly with celebrating World Book Day the same week. All pupils were engaged and enjoyed the workshop. Lorraine was fantastic. Great to see a side of some pupils that I never normally see. Thank you Primary 3 Teacher An outstanding day for our pupils. Lorraine was very motivated and her positive approach with the pupils ensured that every pupil was motivated too. The skills developed in music and theatre were great and linked well in Primary 7 with the learning for World Book Day and our dance in PE. Thank you Primary 7 Teacher”

“The children very much enjoyed all activities and the planned activities were excellent. The only issue we had was that the timings over ran a little so the final group didn't have as long. Overall, an excellent day though!”

“The show was promoted as being suitable for the whole school, however it was definitely pitched towards the younger members of the audience. Reception through to Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed it, but I'm afraid that most of the older year groups were unimpressed. My year 5 class reported that they liked 'the dabbing'. Having said that, the actors were engaging and the singing was good, the show just wasn't quite right for KS2 - sorry.”

“The children thoroughly enjoyed the dance workshops. They were all able to gain rehearsal and dance techniques during the session. They also had the pleasure of producing a completed project. It brought the story of the BFG to life for the children in a different format than that they were used to. They learned skills of repsonding to signals, freeze frame and sequencing of group choreography. An exciting experience for all!”

“What a fantastic 3 days our children had with Julia from West End in Schools. She brought The BFG to life and from Reception to Year 6 the children were engaged and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was amazing, very well planned and got everyone involved. We would love to have you back again.”

“Our children had a fantastic time dancing their chosen stories. Alastair quickly gained the children's admiration and was very inclusive in his approach whilst expecting high standards from them. The final performances were remarkable after one hour's preparation. Parents were thrilled and there were a few tears of joy!”

“Teacher: Our presenter, Cameron, was superb! The children were mesmerised from start to finish. He really brought our book alive in an inspirational way and had every child participating. So much achieved in a short time. Thank you! Year 6 pupil: Today, we had the West End in Schools Theatre group and we danced and acted out scenes from the BFG. It was fantastic because there was lots of excitement and a lot of different emotions, speeds and movements involved.”

“West End in Schools helped us celebrate World Book Day by bringing alive 'The BFG' and 'Where the Wild Thing Are' for our pupils. Choreographed dance workshops produced some excellent results and the children had a fantastic time re-enacting the stories for an assembly the next day. The representative from West End in Schools was enthusiastic, excellent with the children and engaged every pupil in the activities. We would happily recommend them to other schools.”
