“Ali was fantastic with the children and they thoroughly enjoyed their day. The activities were pitched well and we particularly enjoyed the sharing session where pupils performed their drama pieces. We would certainly book the activity again.”

“Very enthusiastic member of staff - however, the praise needs to be meaningful as the children rapidly became off task and rather over stimulated. Use of a powerpoint would have helped the presentation and perhaps complimenting individuals on their movements and sharing these with the group as a focussed learning point. Perhaps consider the introduction of a signal or sound (eg tamborine/triangle/ clap/ hands up etc) as a sign to freeze or listen or sit down would have been appropriate. Thank you for the learning opportunity.”

I’m sorry there were some issues during the session. I have called you and emailed to hear more about it. This is our first two star review so I want to understand how we can put it right and ensure we don’t slip below the standards we aim for like this again. Our professional dancers are all taught to use control commands to keep children on task and to feature positive work, especially from any reluctant dancers. We will revisit this teaching with the team.

“We have use West End in Schools for a few years now and they never fail to deliver exciting workshops for our children. This year Mathew came and choreographed some movement sessions based on the BFG and then we also had the show 'Jump In'. The actors and choreographers are enthusiastic, full of energy, inspiring and professional.”

“Diana was enthusiastic, firm, fun and inspirational. The children were engaged from start to finish. She was able to impart an interest in Shakespeare to all of the children (age range 4 - 7 years). The activities delivered were appropriate for each year group and the children rose to the aspiration and expectations set out. The teachers from Reception to Year 2, have been delighted by the standard of work the children have produced following the workshop.”

“We recently had a West End workshop for our Year 1 and 2 children. The workshops that were delivered were fun and engaging for the children. The children became involved in the book being explored and impressively learnt a dance in just one session! It was lovely to see all of our children engaged in work around a book, especially our children who might not normally have the confidence to take part. The workshop leader was dynamic and really held the children's interest. I would absolutely recommend these workshops for any school/ setting.”

“In such a short time the children had a potted version of Macbeth and then managed to act out a scene, covering complex language and making a powerful and evocative piece which they could then perform.
