“A very inspirational day, the children (and adults) loved it. Ashley was great with the children, they were focused throughout the assembly and workshops. He showed us all how you can bring a story to life through movement and music and how the same story can be differentiated across the school producing very different results. Thank you all!”

“Although the delivery was engaging I felt the content and vocabulary used was too advanced for our youngest children. It would have been better if there were props, pictures or puppets to help bring the story to life. It would have been nice to use material or scarves to add another dimension to the dance. The moves and sequences of choreography were very difficult for our youngest children (Nursery and Reception)”

“It was an absolute pleasure having Jess come to visit. She led a fantastic Poetry & Poppies workshop for each of our Year 2 classes and the sharing session to conclude the morning was fabulous. She was professional, enthusiastic and engaging throughout and the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience of performing WW1 poetry on Remembrance Day. I cannot recommend 'West End in Schools' highly enough!”

“We had an afternoon of Diwali dance workshops for KS2 classes- Flax Bourton Church of England school. The workshop was great and all children were buzzing and very keen to talk about their experience after the workshops. The pace of the workshop was good and the enthusiasm of the instructor kept the children engaged throughout. We will be booking another workshop in the future!”

“James was brilliant! He had the children from Reception to Year 6 hooked on his every word and dance moved. The children learnt so much about Diwali (and dance) and it has stayed with them. We all (children and staff) thoroughly enjoyed the day. Thank you so much and we would highly recommend you.”

“Thank you so much for our Diwali themed dance day. The instructor Charlotte gave a fantastic introduction in assembly to the whole school followed by workshops for each class. The feedback from both teachers and children was about how much they enjoyed the dancing and how the instructor managed to teach them a super sequence in a short amount of time. The children were all very engaged and as a teacher, I learned a great deal of simple techniques to implement in my own dance lessons so great CPD too. At the end of the day, the whole school danced together showing off their new moves and even though this wasn't on the agreed schedule, Charlotte led it with a smile. Thank you so much and we will definitely be booking again.”

“Daisy led the activities very well and had all the children’s attention; she was able to teach them new words in a fun yet stimulating environment. All children of all abilities were able to take lots from the task and in KS2 were able to use their new knowledge to write poetry. The only change I would have made is to have the music playing from the speakers and poem projected on the board. Thank you.”

“Our Diwali dance workshop today was totally fantastic! We wanted these workshops to launch our new India topic and our children could not be more excited to learn about India from such a fun and informative start. The workshops ran really smoothly for all of our classes and following timings. Our workshop leader Lucy was wonderful at engaging our children right from the very start and help them understand the story of Diwali. I also loved the enjoyment levels for our children who were all able to move their bodies to music and have a great time. They all came away buzzing from the session and reporting on how it was the best day in school. The story was really clear and now gives us a good starting point to continue teaching. We have the video of their complete dance so can refer to it in teaching which our children will absolutely love. Lucy was so engaging and clearly understands how to engage children and help teach through dance. I cannot say enough how wonderful it was! Would highly recommend to anyone! Thank you West End in Schools and the lovely Lucy. Old Town Infant School, Poole. Dorset.”
