“West End in Schools came in person to deliver the Tokyo Dance Workshop to all of our year groups (nursery -6). All of our children really enjoyed the workshops and produced some great dance. The workshops were differentiated for year groups.”

“Dara was absolutely BRILLIANT - so talented, so patient, excellent with the children and they all really loved the experience. They learnt a lot about the Olympics and my staff learnt how to take some simple moves to create a really good dance. It may be it was so good as Dara was so good BUT I would strongly recommend the experience to other schools.”

“Pupil feedback: - We thought it was really fun especially when we played the silly warm up game. - I liked the whole thing, I fell down because I was laughing so much. - I liked learning about acting and the stage directions. - I liked the gymnastic routine Staff feedback: - All children got involved and were very active! - The instructor had the attention of the children, kept them engaged, and they really enjoyed it. - Some standards being set for the noise level would be helpful as it ended up becoming a bit of a 'who can scream the loudest' situation, which caused some undue stress on children who are more sensitive to excessive noise/disturbance. - It wasn't particularly an "Olympic" experience and the session I saw could have been delivered by their PE teacher. There was no exposure to Japanese culture/ dance. - It was more of a drama workshop rather than the dance one advertised.”

“The children were really engaged and enjoyed the dance workshop based around Kensuke's Kingdom. The teacher was enthusiastic and well prepared. She communicated well with the class. I would recommend this workshop and we will be rebooking.”

“Came to school all day for 4 different workshops working across all of KS2 on 2 different texts. The correspondence was great and everything ran so smoothly. Lottie, our workshop leader, was fantastic with the children. She was well prepared and kept the children's attention throughout. They were able to explore the stories in interesting and imaginative ways. I would definitely recommend them.”

From then on he had the children's full attention while he helped them create a beautiful and varied representation of the Kensuke story through drama and dance. We thought that every minute of the hour long session was worthwhile, and that the children learned a lot about interpretation and movement. The whole thing was linked by some very well chosen music. The children loved it!”

“We loved our Shakespeare workshop on the Tempest. Craig was absolutely brilliant with the children and made sure to ask me questions before the session on our intended outcome for the day. The sessions were engaging and varied. The children learnt about Shakespeare, the plot of the story and the characters. They even had the chance to recite some script from the original text. We will definitely be using West End in Schools for our Shakespeare week next year! Thank you!”

“Fantastic!! So so engaging and exciting for all age groups. We absolutely loved our workshop & found that the children learnt so much and it was made more memorable through the drama and movement. Upon returning to class the children were able to explain everything they had learnt and recount what they did! They loved every single second & Mike was so passionate it really really was fabulous! “The Shakespeare Explorer visit we had today was wonderful. West End in Schools delivered a series of one-hour workshops across Key Stage 2, introducing the children to A Midsummer Night's Dream and encouraging them to use their bodies, expressions and voices to capture a moment or tell part of the story. Every class enjoyed it and the children have taken the inspiration into further drama, writing and art. The representative from WEIS was on time, organised and led the sessions very effectively. We would recommend the experience.”
