Disappointing service at a difficult and upsetting time. I was charged over £150 for a consultation in which the vet took my rabbit's temperature and listened to her heartbeat, before telling me that she was very ill, which as an experienced rabbit owner was obvious, and there was nothing that they could do for her. This wasn't unexpected but I feel that given the short consultation, the fee was excessive, even for a bank holiday. The vet did not appear to be at all confident with rabbits. I wasn't allowed to stay with my pet whilst she was put to sleep, which I found very distressing. The only explanation offered for this was that the gas used to sedate her couldn't be used when a member of the public was present. The vet wasn't confident to put the injection into her ear and said it would have to go into her chest, which was also distressing to hear. I was asked if I would like to use their recommended cremation service for over £200. When I declined and made my own arrangements (which cost £70), I was charged a "handling" fee of £30 for them to keep my deceased pet overnight. Quite what this was to cover, I am not sure. Obviously she didn't need feeding or looking after. When I saw my rabbit after she had died, her eyes were bulging which I have not experienced with any of my previous rabbits when they have died, and which was also very upsetting. They seemed totally confused that I had made my own arrangements for cremation and there was much insistence that I would need to ring back in the morning before the surgery switched over to the daytime staff to ensure that they could arrange for my pet to be handed over to the crematorium collection driver. I wasn't left feeling confident that my pet would be treated with respect. All in all, I feel the fees are excessive and that this is exploiting people when they are at their most vulnerable. As they offer the emergency vet service, people have little choice but to use them.

Would give zero if possible! Took our bitch with her newborn puppies to the Vet, told a certain amount on the phone. After we saw the Vet ( who said the pups looked fine bar one may be touch & go) reception wanted double the consultation fee as the vet checked the pups over ( took 2min!). All our puppies sadly passed away. So our instinct was right that something was going on! I good Vet should have picked up that they were getting dehydrated etc. Avoid!!!!!

My kitten was ill and they wrote him off before I even arrived as because of how young he was and never gave him medical treatment! I was willing to pay anything but they sent him home with us and wouldn’t help any further. He died. I hold them accountable not because he died but because they never even tried to help!

Not at all impressed. No investigations as to why dog was heamoraging ..... they said another dog was more poorly. But they still charged over £800 for service. Was told dog needed to be kept in overnight as so severe but they didn't explain dog needed to be collected by myself at 0730 Monday morning and transported to own vet.

Our dog was given unnecessary medicine that made him worse. The vet insisted on giving him.an opiate pain killer, despite me saying I didn't think he needed them. He reacted very badly with rapid breathing and panting for hours afterwards. The vet admitted the reaction was due to her musjudginghis pain levels so too much drug was given. We went to the emergency vet to hekpoyr dog and instead he left in a worse state and cost us £170.

Misdiagnosed my dog with life threatening results. After 2 appointments less than hour apart and overnight observation told dog had spontaneously developed epilepsy. Told no need for MRI or further investigation. We organised an MRI despite their advice. Transpired dog was in complete heart block and needed pacemaker fitted. Delay had worsened situation. Touch & go whether dog would make it. To top it off felt unfairly overcharged. First visit charged £149.01, 2nd visit 30 mins later supposedly £77.29 but again charged £149.01. Second, when calling when we could pick dog up told 09.00, had been admitted 18.50. On being discharged realised they charge in blocks 7 hours so by saying 09.00 meant they could charge 3 blocks not 2. Finally I noted they charged a 4th block but I noticed their ‘mistake’. Total charges between Saturday evening and Sunday morning £824.86.

My French bulldog was admitted with a suspected broken leg vets now kept her over night for a bill of approx £900 knowing my insurance only covered £1000 and my dog was still to have an op. The operating surgeon advised that they should not have racked up this bill for treatment including a drip for a dog that was not dehydrated knowing further treatment was required the following day! I was advised it would have been not detriment to my dog to have been given strong painkillers and sent away until the vet was open the following day. I do appreciate the help that was given but feel they should have thought more about the long term and been more frugal with the funds available.

Terrible. My dog was bitten by an adder, they had no anti venom which on their website clearly states they have access to. £1000 spent just for them to “babysit” him over night. 4 hours sat in the waiting room as only one vet working. Very limited knowledge on snake bites. I will never use again.

I took my daughter's rabbit, who was clearly dying, to vets now, to be put to sleep. After the pet was put down, I was left to wait for nearly half an hour, holding the dead pet, before I was billed and able to leave. Fortunately my daughter was not there to suffer this cruelty. I cared enough for this creature, to pay, what for me, is half a weeks wage, to give him a dignified death. I was absolutely appalled by the callous way I was treated and will avoid vets now, at all costs.

Absolute rip off , extortionate fees , wouldn't attend to my daughter's dog (18 yr old student with no income) after it had been attacked by another dog , unless she paid a £300 deposit , in the end the total bill was £515 to clean a few wounds and to perform stitches on one of the areas, also have to pay to have stitches removed, wouldn't offer a service to pay the bill in installments, THIS LOT SHOULD BE WEARING MASKS INSTEAD OF SCRUBS IF THEYRE CONTINUALLY GOING TO ROB PEOPLE.
