Vets now have no concern for the animals welfare. They are only interested in ripping the public off with extortionate fees. I would never take a sick animal to them again

Came to treat my cat’s rectal prolapse. Paid twice within a month for two “surgeries”. The rectum keeps coming out. If the condition is untreatable or reoccurring that often, I’d expect some professional advice instead of offering yet another expensive surgery just to get the money out of the desperate owners pocket.

I will never use Vets Now again. They seemed more concerned about providing and extortionate quote than my cat and making sure I paid a 50% deposit, they also added a charity donation to thebquote without my permission. The consulting rooms were dirty, the sinks brown and every chair in the waiting room and consulting rooms covered in dog hair. The high handed attitude of the vet really annoyed me. I decided the next day that my cat needed to be put to sleep, when I got there a nice vet brought her to me to say goodbye, my cat was had been given opiods for some reason, i wasn't conviced she needed them, her pupils were the size of her eyes and she was thrashing around an in great distress, that is my lasting memory and it is extremely upsetting.

Was really disappointed with our first experience with you and it will be our last. As an emergency vet I wouldn’t be going unless I thought my dog needed to see a vet quickly, which she did. Last night I brought my 9 week old puppy into you with swelling in the face - the risk for the throat to swell is high and even higher for a small puppy. We waited an hour and a half in a freezing cold waiting room where my puppy was shivering! Thankfully we found another emergency vets 30 mins away and on arrival, we were taken straight in and treatment was given - driving 30 mins away, we received quicker treatment than we would of had if we stayed. When we arrived at vetsnow we could see both of her eyes, when we arrived at the other vets her left eye was swollen shut - she didn’t need to have gotten worse as we were with you for plenty of time. For the price you charge, you would think the service would be of better quality.

It’s a shame this is the only vets available after hours , make u feel like a hindrance and they are totally uncaring , more interested in making sure they get paid rather than looking after your pet ..

Absolute disgrace. My Dog was brought in as emergency to be pts as had brain tumour and went down hill dramatically . Vet tried 3 different legs to find a vein ...couldn't ...I eventually told him to leave her alone and drove yo my own vet 20 miles away and was the most traumatic experience of my life . I don't think he was a qualified vet. Thankfully my vet sedated her and let her go peacefully . NEVER AGAIN AND WILL TELL OTHERS TO AVOID AT ALL COST. Also was told I would pay over 250 pounds for the farce . My own vet charged me 80 .

The lady vet was 👍great. The male vet tried to con me out of £60 yeast test plus consult when he could have just tried the ear drops. On returning home I asked for a call back. No callback.

Rubbish my cat got hit by a car- they wanted payment details from the Wrexham branch before they would give me an up date as she was- they took an excess payment off me cash which they should not have done and never provided a receipt did no treatment and I was told by my normal vet the delay coat my cat it’s life - they were rude off hand in personal and made it all about the money even though all they did was provide a painkiller and oxygen £600 ridiculous- as far as I am concerned I hope no one I know has to use them - heartless no empathy and rude - even when I rung to explain I had recently diagnosed heart failure and I need to keep My stress levels down they said they couldn’t stop letters coming even though the claim was being processed - horrid vile and disgusting people in the Wrexham branch and the woman who worked in finance would be better in a none customer role - maybe working on her own as not fit for human interaction.

I came in for a simple anti-biotic treatment. I was left minor traumatised because I was told that my dog “needed” multiple operations. This, i was told after an examination that lasted less than 10 seconds. After a second opinion it is clear you tried getting as much money as possible out of me for unneeded precedures.

First of all sending a TEXT at 01.58am is completely inappropriate! Waiting a full month to ask for feedback is also inappropriate! Those aside; the receptionist had a terrible attitude, very grumpy & abrupt, especially when dealing with people worried sick about their pets. In fact the first thing she felt the need to say to me was ‘it will cost at least £150’. I would rethink having someone like that front of house, if anywhere! The vet/vet assistant was great, great attitude, lovely woman, explained everything & very empathetic, which is what should expect. Although the shave job done on my bitch to do her scan was horrific, i dont expect a salon finish but it was a hack job. All in i paid £209, which for a charity organisation was way excessive especially with my low income! On our departure i was directed straight to the desk to pay, but i was confused to see a woman & her kids stroll out behind me without paying. Can someone advise the circumstances where you wouldnt have to pay? Given my grotesquely high bill i was perplexed by this! All in all not a experience i would care to repeat, in fact i would go elsewhere next time if required. And itemised billing should be standard practice. I have a bill with no info of what i paid for! I have no way to show the stud owner that my bitch was not pregnant! I am therefore out £250 for the stud fee & £209 for a bad haircut, bad attitude & a scan that for all i know never happened. I do hope my feedback is helpful to you at now 2.19am, although i am sure it is more like you wish you had never asked. Also my name is McDade!

The receptionist greeted us by making a point of telling us, in great detail, how busy she was. More time was spent telling all of sundry that she was so busy that an unnecessary queue formed for no apparent reason. She told all those waiting that an emergency patient was being rushed in. (An old labrabour with a dislocated leg). I and many others were still waiting when it became obvious that the aforementioned pet was in the car outside the practice awaiting help to come in. The receptionist offered said help and shouted for what I assume was a vetinary nurse. No one came. She shouted again. It was obvious that the pet was in great pain and its mum and dad were besides themselves. She shouted again and what can only can be described as a reluctant nurse sauntered to the front desk. She casually and slowly went to help. At this point, I was besides myself what with a poorly cat and witnessing such a poorly dog and no one was rushing to help him. We were then called. My cat had a swollen foot, it came out of nowhere and as he is so old, I didn’t want him to wait a whole weekend before taking him to my vet. (A vet I trust and love). The practice vet looked, not touched, Tony, my boy, and informed myself and my partner that he thought he’d been run over. At this point, he touched his paw, and told me it was broken and there were a number of options available to us. He explained that due to Tony’s age and existing medical complaints: heart mumur, kidney issues and a pin in his back leg; it was likely than an amputation was likely but that we’d need to be aware that he might not survive the surgery. The vet wouldn’t be able to do anything for his foot there and then but could offer very light pain relief until we could take him to my see my own vet. I burst into tears and couldn’t take it in. What I was able to suggest, through tears and disbelieve, was that I thought Tony had just got his toe nails caught or crossed over in a fight hence the swollen and disfigured appearance of the foot. The vet then said he’d take Tony into the back. He took him to another room, where I couldn’t see my cat and left myself and partner in the small treatment room. He returned about a minute later and confirmed my thoughts and said that he toe nails were just caught and that he would clip them! He left to clip Tony’s nails in the back room. Still crying, I couldn’t believe what had just happened. Tony was returned after a few minutes and had received a injection of pain relief just in case the clipping had hurt. I could hardly speak and was just glad my boy was fixed and well. The vet apologised for worrying me, left me to put Tony in his carrier and said he would type up a bill and for us to wait at reception for my bill. I asked my partner to take Tony to the car and I’d wait to settle the bill. Yet again, the receptionist declared how busy and behind she was and left me to wait at least 5 minutes until I could pay my bill. Obviously, all I wanted to do was to take my cat home. In comparison, I know that Tony wasn’t in any danger but I needed to know he wasn’t in pain hence the trip to the emergency vets. There were other pets waiting that were obviously unwell and all we needed to know was that the vets were working hard to see them and not how hard a job running reception was or that the phones were running out of beatteries or that the printer was slow printing bills. I still can’t process what was said to my about my beloved pet. I’d gone and had to contemplate an amputation and his possible demise for him only needing his nails clipped. Would I visit again? Absolutely not. If Tony was ever poorly again when my brilliant vet was shut, I ring round everywhere until I found one that was open before using you again.

One vet on duty, pet seen by a nurse who uses her discretion to decide which is most acute emergency, whilst at the same time answering phones and doing general admin - there is NO way the company can cover two emergencies coming in within a short space of time and had I arrived with a dog who truly had bloat he would have died in the surgery whilst I was waiting for the receptionist/nurse to help someone complete insurance details. Words cannot express how much I loathe your out of hours care - the vets never seem to know what they are doing, bizarre diagnosis and blood tests taken, enormous bills (which I am not averse to if I feel my animals are being looked after promptly and competently) and I truly dread doing anything out of the ordinary at the weekends in case I have to ever use your appalling, exploitative, inefficient, understaffed, under qualified, shoe string service. Vets Now emergency cover is the reason why I am looking to change my beloved regular vet because they have sadly chosen to use you as their out of hours cover.

Awful. Massively understaffed. I actually dread the idea of having an emergency and having to attempt to get my pet treated by you. One vet on duty for a huge catchment area. Appalling. Totally unable to cope with two emergencies coming in around the same time. Cynically exploitation by a company where profits are clearly far more important than animals. I am actively looking to change my regular vet as they have started using vets now as their out of hours emergency cover. I have nothing good to say about your company at all.

Despite being clear that I was away on holiday and would contact the practice on my return to collect my cat's remains, I was phoned on a Sunday evening at 8.00pm right in the middle of my holiday which was really upsetting. When I did collect her, she was taken out of a cupboard right in reception and quickly bundled into a bag....this was a member of our family....not something from Tesco!!! And let's not forget the extortionate price we had to pay to be treated so poorly!!
