“There are several specks of white paint on the new slate sign, which is really disappointing. It seems like the quality control failed on this occasion. The sign looks smart, but I just would have preferred it to look perfect, and not have these defects”

However, natural slate can contain variations and mineral deposits which form part of its unique appearance. “Overall slate sign very good. House number next to name, the name could be a little larger if it consists of one word only. This facility not available. My initial order contained the house name in lower case, entirely my mistake. When I phoned to correct this error within an hour of placing order I was told that the whole process was ‘automated’ and that it might not be possible to change the name to capitals!! In the end it was corrected, but I had to wait to open the package to find out!”

To clarify, our website includes a live preview function that shows exactly how your sign will appear before you place your order. We also advise customers to carefully check all wording, capitalisation, spacing and layout during the ordering process, as signs are produced directly from the approved preview. As our production process is highly automated, orders cannot normally be amended once they have been placed. When you contacted us regarding the capitalisation of your house name, we explained that while we could update the information on our system, we could not guarantee that the production team had not already downloaded the original artwork for manufacture. However, as a gesture of goodwill, we agreed to try and make the amendment for you. We're pleased that the correction was successfully made and that your sign arrived as expected. “Pleased with every part of the process EXCEPT the delivery. Using Amazon delivery is too risky. As per usual, Amazon left the package on the doorstep, knocked on the door and walked right off. Didn't wait for an answer. Packages are regularly stolen from doorsteps including our street. Please consider switching courier services to one that requires receipients to at least 'sign for'. In the event of stolen parcels, this creates problems for both the customer and the business.”

“I thought I had ordered one sign which clearly displayed my house name. Instead I received three signs in which the name was so small as to be barely legible. I have queried how a business could allow something so clearly useless to be dispatched. On the plus side, they are very prompt in replying to me. Frances Waddy.”
