“This is my second order from you - I had to ring to ensure you had received my order as I did not get a confirmation email. I did get an email to advise of delivery. The shelf was well packed no 'injuries'. My first order I advised that a corner of the parcel was damaged and the shelf just about escaped being damaged. The shelf is up and looking good- thank you”

“Excellent service baring in mind I made an error with my original order. David promptly responded and resolved my issue and updated me on the progress. Product arrived earlier than expected and met all our requirements. Great to see good customer service is still alive and kicking 😆”

“Wonderful piece of oak. Fits the room perfectly! The order came very quick, especially considering I asked mounting holes to be drilled at slightly different locations. Installation was a walk in the Park. Very happy with the result!”

“Beam had lots of large cracks more than we would expect after drying process But main issue is the brackets given the weight of the beam they were not very substantial and are 1mm thinner than holes in beam, so beam slips away from wall as nothing to hold it in. Was fitted with two friends both tradesmen who know what they are doing, so followed fitting instructions exactly Very disappointing”

Hello John, We are very sorry that you feel the screws and beam were not adequate. This is the first bad review this year in regards to the quality of the beam and fixings so it comes as a bit of a shock to us and we are very disappointed we did not meet your expectations. Our customer satisfaction is important to us. Firstly we do recommend waiting around a week before install so that the beam can acclimatise to your room temperature to reduce movement and make sure you're happy. The beam should crack during this process but not a huge amount. If you feel your beam has cracked more than it should we would be more than happy to take a look if you send us some photos to info@traditionalbeams.com so we can check this out. We would replace a beam if it has cracked a substantial amount more than it should. The screws have to be slightly thinner than the holes so that the beam fits over them however it should not be falling off. Did you fit to a masonry or timber stud wall? Sometimes if you fit to a plasterboard wall with a cavity behind there is nothing for the screws to hold onto and this can cause them to drop. We are very sorry again for your disappointment.

“Very pleased with the solid oak shelves. Had 2 which were measured to fit in an alcove, which fitted perfectly and arrived within a week. This is my 2nd purchase from Traditional Beams and found their service to be excellent. Always friendly and offer advice. Will be using them again in the future for sure.”

“We brought our beam but we're unable to put it up straight away due to a delay in decorating. When we got to putting it up we found it was incompatible for our fire place. Although we had gone beyond the 14 days we discussed our issues with Traditional Beams and they were happy to give us a full refund. The quality of the beam was excellent but the customer service was better. Highly recommend.”
