“Website very misleading. I was unable to have the beam anywhere near the stove as the pictures show due to it being a combustible material! Or without an additional ugly heat shield. The website has no mention of this at all, in fact if we'd fitted ourselves I would have placed it like the pics, much nearer and then its a fire risk! The beam itself is lovely, jus a shame it cannot be used as per the many pics on the website!”

Hi Lisa, we are sorry to hear you found our website misleading, Oak is a natural product so is a combustable material. We only manufacture our products and do not install them. I can see that you emailed our customer service team where you advised you would need to check the manual of your stove for the recommended safe distance to install your beam, or if you did not have that to contact a HETAS registered installer. It is impossible for us to give this advice when we are not on site and each stove gives out different heat outputs. We are happy to hear you found our Beam lovely and you should be able to instal it if you follow the correct proceedue of installation.

“I have had 'moments' buying things online, often they look nothing like the thing I thought I had bought or the quality was a bit 'Meh' but I'm so happy with the Oak Mantle that arrived yesterday and is now on the wall. It's beautiful and more than I'd hoped for. A suggestion to people fitting one, make a template of the back of the whole beam marking where the pre drilled holes are. I did this, measured three times etc and the beam slipped onto the mounts a treat. Well done.”

“Purchased 3 Rustic Oak Floating Shelf *Aged* and found them to be an almost perfect match for my existing Oak beam purchased elsewhere. The instructions to fit were clear and concise, the fitting brackets were very useful for levelling up (old house, old plaster are no friend to drilling accurately!). The shelves themselves are nice and chunky, they look great.”
