I cancelled my purchase because Alan Wadkins wanted to charge me around £15 for delivery for living in Argyll. This is scandalous and needs to be challenged, I am closer to Glasgow than many other places in Scotland that are not charged any postage. We have been encouraged to call out and report unfair postal charges where and where they occur and hopefully companies like Alan Wadkins will grasp the nettle and use carriers....like Royal Mail that does not charge a premium for posting to Scotland. It is a shame because I was happy to purchase an item that I thought was being sold at a fair price.

We do advise on the basket checkout page that orders to certain delivery postcodes may incur an additional carriage charge, and this would be advise via email to which this was. Unfortunately due to the value of your order we don`t use royal mail as there service isn`t great should anything happen with your parcel regarding claims on the item. The fee charged is only what we are getting charged from the couriers to be honest and there isn`t the margin in the tools to take the carriage hit I'm afraid hence we have to pass this on. My order was cancelled due to payment card not being the same as delivery. They just emailed me this. They could have called and ask for an alternative payment method or something.

Hi Eleni Just looking into this and i can see my colleague has emailed you advising the order had been cancelled and advising why this was the case. They did also mention for you to pay with PayPal if you need the order at a 3rd party delivery address. Many thanks for the order this has been refunded im afraid as the details you have provided are not for where the card used is registered too Address numerics Not Matched NOTMATCHED Post code value Not Matched NOTMATCHED you can reorder the item but it must go to the billing address of the card or you could pay with paypal if it is to go to an alternate delivery address

Bought a pair of the Dewalt sawing horse stands. Good product but damaged in transit, so on their way back. Still waiting for news of the replacements? They could have avoided the problem if they had packed the product properly in the first place. Their poor service just gives me the problem- phone calls, waiting in to collect the faulty goods and again hopefully to get the replacements. They should send their guys on a packing course!

Hi We did apologise to yourself when you rang up advising these were damaged in transit. This was on Friday last week we arranged collection for Monday (Today) which i have checked and can see they have already been collected fro you and are on the way back to us. We advised that once these were back with us we would ship the replacement saw horse to you to which you were happy about on the phone. Regards Martin

Asked me for extra for postage once I had paid & order was completed. I understand that carriage companies can be arsey about posting to the north but surely this could've been forseen before I purchased. Have asked for a refund as I'm not willing to pay extra.

Please do not ask me for a review when the product ordered has not been delivered. I have no reference. Suggest your review needs to be completed by your own organisation as it focuses on shipment.

Hi, An email was sent regarding the refund to your email address on the 2/8/22. This was sent just after we had refunded the order. We aren't covered to send orders that don't have the correct address that the card is registered at. Many Thanks Aidan

Very disappointed as they cancelled my order. They said they couldn’t verify the origin of my payment card so cancelled it without any consultation.

Hi Gregory Yes, this order was cancelled because your payment didn`t pass the security checks on the card used. As it didn`t allow us to check the address numerics and postcode of where the card used was registered too, and without this we aren`t covered by our merchant bank for the transaction. Address numerics Not Checked NOTCHECKED Post code value Not Checked NOTCHECKED You were emailed and advised of this issue. This is not something that could have been resolved over the phone as you would have needed to replace the order. Regards Martin

Hi Peter This was placed on a next day working day pre 12 pm delivery. Until this review, this is the first we have been made aware of any issues with the delivery from you. If you had advised us this hadn`t arrived with you on time then we could have looked into this sooner for you with DPD to see why this was the case. This merchant does not comply with the same system as written on their website. The return policy is far too poor and inexperience. Always they are trying to find something to deducted money from your return item. The delivering system is nowhere close to what they claim to be either. Reconsider your decision should you want to purchase anything here!

Hi Ali You purchased a mitre saw from us which we delivered on time as advised. A few days later you emailed to state there was an issue with the machine to which we arranged a courier to collect the tool from you for inspection to find the fault. The machine when supplied is supplied with a blade, You returned the used item to us without this blade dispute us asking on numerous occasions for this item so we could test the machine to find the fault with the blade you had been using. So in the end we have charged you for not returning the blade to us. Our delivery service was exactly how we advertised and delivered when it should have been. And i full refund would have been issued if you had returned the item as fully supplied to which you haven`t done so. Regards Martin

With regret, I have to say very poor. My order (Next day delivery) sat on the FedEx website as "Delayed", but continued to estimate delivery by 18:00, yet showed the package stuck at the Newcastle depot. So with the end of the business day approaching, I rang Alan Wadkins, gave them all details, and was promised they'd look into it and call me back. You all know what's next, no callback, no email, nothing. After 18:00 FexEx tracker changed to 00:00, then later changed to "By the end of the day". Needless to say nothing came. The next day, FedEx showed arrived in my city @02:30, and was currently out for delivery. It arrived midday. Clearly, ALL FedEx screw up, but Alan Wadkins couldn't have cared less, and demonstrated so, which is unforgivable. I took a day off work to receive the delivery.

He was expecting it today many thanks We have only just received an email reply from FedEx on the 29th of April advising us that this had been delivered though I have spoken with the person in question and they had kept an eye on the consignment updates and seen it had been delivered the following day. We can only apologise it wasn`t delivered the previous day but sometimes these delays can occur which is something we can`t control I'm afraid once the parcel has left our building. I asked FedEx to deliver to a local collection point so that I could pick it up after hours. I have a text from them as below advising that I would be contacted when ready for pick-up. That hasn’t happened but I can see from the tracking delivery that it was delivered on Tuesday. The collection point are not interested unless I have a barcode.

Hi Gregor What you advise FedEx to do with your parcel is not something we see, to be honest with you. As the item wasn`t going to a pickup shop on your order it was going to a property this is not something we would no anything about. Regards Martin

Extremely poor experience. Ordered and paid for a DeWalt pole strimmer online. The website said PAYMENT SUCCESSFUL. 20 minutes later I get an email saying order cancelled. No explanation. Phoned up the company and spoke to someone who lacked customer service ability who said the payment was checked by them and they couldn’t get the bank to process it. Spoke to my bank who had not had any direct dealing with them. I spend a good deal of money (like we all do) online and this has never happened before. Would not use this company.

Hi I have looked into your order and found the order was refunded as your payment hadn`t gone thorugh the 3d secure process which is an additional security check usually done by your bank to confirm this is your doing the transaction. However without this on an order we aren`t covered by our merchant bank for the transaction hence my colleague emailed you to advise of this and stated the order had been refunded. This is not something we get involved in an is usually set between the card holder adn the bank in question. We wouldn`t contact your bank asking these questions regarding the order. Regards Martin

Terrible service. I placed an order and paid in full and received a purchase confirmation via email (so good so far) However I almost immediately received a second email informing me that my delivery had been cancelled (the email offered no explanation as to why). I contacted Alan Wadkins customer service and have yet to receive any response nor have I received my order or a financial refund. Basically theft. Daylight robbery. Absolutely shocking business.

Hi Andrew The email you will have received was from dpd on our behalf as the sticker for your order had been voided and since redone, The item has left us and should be with you on Wednesday. We have had no contact from you about this until receiving this negative review to which we have responded and advised why you will have received this email. Regards Martin

Hi Jacob I have looked into this for you and found the item was attempted for delivery via dpd the following day and refused for by Richard and dpd have taken a photo outside of the building on the day with all your vans in the car park. You then spoke to my colleague and advised them that you no longer required the item and for it to be returned to sender and a refund issued. Which upon its return to us was done. Regards Martin

Hi Jak This order was refunded because the details you provided on the order were not for where the card used was registered to, and we do state the correct details must be on the order otherwise it would be refunded. In the meantime someone else had ordered the items hence we had no more stock. Regards Martin

I have been asked to write a review for something I never received. After I purchased the item I was asked for more money for delivery despite it being advertised as free delivery. Just because I live in the highlands (which is UK mainland) I had to pay an extra £25 fee. This is very disappointing and why I cancelled the order. It puzzles me how some firms can genuinely offer free delivery but some do not.

Hi Iain We do state on our basket page prior to checkout that delivery to certain postcodes may incur an additional carriage charge. Please note there maybe extra charges to the follow postcodes KW,IV, AB, PH, PS, DD, BT, HS, PA. Please also allow extra delivery time for these areas as there not next day guaranteed. Due to the size and weight of the item this was why the additional postage fee of £25.00 was asked for. This is only what we get charged from the courier themselves and we don`t make any money from it.
