For our organisation we get a lot of time off in lieu and it would be useful to have the following features:- Request system for days off in lieu. The ability to have negative leave (through manager approval).

Quick and intuitive, but it would be better if it was possible to check also holidays that have been book in the previous months.

Hi Guia, You can do this, just use the back and forward navigation arrows on the Wall Chart. Thanks

My boss doesn't like the staff to have holiday at the same time as each other but the app only shows your own holiday calendar. You can't see other people's holiday. It would be helpful if you could see everyone's booked holiday so you don't clash.

HI Giovanna, If you log on to the web app then the 'Wall Chart' does exactly what you are saying. Hope that makes sense. Thanks Gary

It would be useful to have a carry forward facility (eg tick box by employee) so that unused leave can be carried forward if approved instead of having to manually add it to the allowance for the following year. It would also be useful if people could request time off in excess of their allowances - this could be flagged. We allow this with approval and employees then receive unpaid leave. At the moment I either need to increase their allowance which doesn't represent the true position, or their leave simply isn't shown on their calendar.

Hi Gillian, Thanks for the review. You can Carry Forward leave - just head to SETTINGS > GENERAL SETTINGS to configure it. As for unpaid leave - most companies create a Leave Type called 'Unpaid Leave' and elect that it doesn't deduct from allowance. Hope this helps Thanks Gary

It would be really useful if it could calculate the number of days accrued based on a start date where the whole year wasn't worked. Please let me know if/when this feature arrives as we'd start using the product for our teams.

Timetastic is a good idea and with a bit of 'tweaking' to accommodate leave in hours as well as half/full days, and also lieu time (I am recording this manually at present) , it will be great.

Hi Karen, You can do both of these things, you need to be a department boss or admin user but both are in the Users profile. Please send us an email to hello@timetastic.co.uk if you can't find them. Thanks

Good system just need to be updated correctly with correct days holiday entitlement and bought holidays to give the correct balances.

Being part-time, if I want to take a week's leave I find I have to book each day, rather than just booking start and end dates. Which makes more work for the employee and also HR, who have to sort it out.

I am finding the software useful and fairly easy to use. However, it would be more useful if we were able to put in mandatory and company-wide holidays, such as Christmas shutdown, in one block rather than having to input them separately for each employee. It would also be useful to be able to nominate other people to receive advisory emails regarding time off booked. When I authorise an employee's time off ,I currentlybhave to email 2 other members of management to advise them of the holidays due to a cross-over of duties.

Hi Stephanie, Thanks very much for the review. I just wanted to let you know that you can now book company wide days off just as you are suggesting. We only realised this function last week so maybe you missed it - details here: http://blog.timetastic.co.uk/group-bookings/ Many thanks Gary

We have a company calendar already in Google Calendar, wasn't clear how to get this app integrated for employees to add direct to the calendar via the app. Still not sure, I can get it to add to my own calendar fine, but I wanted it to add to the company calendar, that step is unclear. Downloaded iPhone version, but was sadly disappointed I couldn't find a way to change a holiday once booked via the iPhone, so that makes the app rather useless at present. So I've hit a brick wall with this now, which is shame since most other things seem to work nicely. A future suggestion would also be nice not to show how many days left to book for an employee, just a notice once there are no more days left to book.

Hi Gary, Cheers for the review and feedback. We have some info here about setting up the ical feed into Google calendar. Although I admit I have not tried this myself in a shared calendar. Just make sure you choose "full organisation" when getting the calendar feed links. We tend to agree with you on the iPhone app, it's very basic at present and focused on booking time off. You'll find if you access Timetastic through a mobile browser you'll get more functionality. We are currently speccing a new app out internally, so yeah, it's high on the list. Thanks Gary

It's easy to use my only issue is that the person I line manage's holiday does not come to me to approve when it needs to. Who can fix this?

Hi Natasha, You can select who gets to approve each staff members leave. In this instance I think you need to find this users page, select 'users' and click the one you manage. Then look for the 'approver' drop down, and select yourself to approve their leave. (For clarity you need to be an admin user to take these actions). If this is not the issue and it's something related to email delivery then please email hello@timetastic.co.uk Thanks

All systems have their good and bad points. Timetastic does not seem to be able to cater for bank holidays which seems wrong. Thanks

Hi Tina, Thanks very much for the review, it's much appreciated. In case you missed Timetastic does cater for Bank Holidays. If you navigate to 'settings' > 'Public Holidays/ free Days' you should find a complete list of UK Bank Holidays. You can delete them if need be and add in any additional company wide free days. I hope that was what you would were hoping for. Thanks

Not great for navigation, missing reporting features. Adding and taking away days from a user is confusing. Overall not bad, but definitely some UI and feature issues need to be addressed.
