Mind blowingly expensive. Bugs in the platform. Dismissive customer service (until you point out the obvious with screen shots). You have to pay creators outside of the platform (this could potentially lead to problems). For anyone considering using SC - costs involved for a small business = £178 per month PLUS creator fee's - this can range from £50 to anything you want, the norm seems to be £50 to £150.

I had issues with later delivery from influencers. I reached out to the social cat team a few times but there was a delay in responding to my concerns about this. I only wanted a one month package, but I will have to pay for an extra month in order to actually get delivery of the content that is arriving late.

If you need people to just make content for you, decent place, as some of the creators make good content, but some make really garbage low effort content. If you want to get actual impressions on your brand, most of the creators entire feeds are product placement, and the follows are other UGC content creators and NOT your actual target audience. Or the creators are loaded with fake views and fake likes. In general, you are not likely to see any brand lift from using these creators to post about you. But you can find some creators who make quality content. Or get stuck with a creator who makes very low effort content

My experience with social cat has been pretty disappointing. Although, the customer service is good the standard of influencers and communication has been poor. I have had to chase up 'influencers' and only received satisfactory content with one. Another content I was given by the influencer was very poor despite a brief provided - I was then not able to contact the individual further and hoped social cat would chase it up after you marked content as not being satisfactory but they do not seem to do this. Another has failed to provide anything and even initially lost the product! I am still chasing her up but social cat wants you to pay to just access the inbox features when if I have not been satisfied and the deadline is long overdue, I do not think I should still have to pay to chase the 'influencer' up. It has not been worth it so I could not recommend it, unfortunately.

I'd give Social Cat 0 starts if I could. I'm really disappointed and this was a waste of my money. 1. The pricing structure was not the same as I saw advertised on Facebook. 2. I got lots of opportunities for the first week, but then it petered out and I wasn't even able to find ten people to collaborate with. 3. Lots of the creators were unresponsive after I accepted the matches. 4. It's really expensive for not a lot of outcome. 5. Of the 10 matches I could have had, 3 posted content, 3 have been shipped product and are unresponsive, and the last 4 didn't respond to the match. Which basically means that of the 10 I paid for, I got 3 AND lost money on sending product to another 3. 6. When you cancel, you lose everything - you can't even finish the collabs you were in the middle of, so if you've shipped products, it's just money down the drain. DO NOT sign up for this company.

As for cancellations, while brands have the option to cancel their subscription fully, we also offer a Pause subscription option that provides continued access to certain platform features. I 100% don't like the fact that I lose access to the content creators I've already paid for once I pause my account. The videos and interactions that I made should always be avalyaibe If I purchased that number of connections. We plan on moving to a different service not because your service is bad but because we have no plans to make investments in time, money, and influencers on a platform that holds our investments hostage.

I can see where this service might be good for some small businesses but it was definitely NOT for mine. Out of the 15 or so "influencers" I contacted 3 made half way decent content. 2 made stories that went away before I was even aware they were up. 2 had to be reminded after a month to actually post anything and 1 walked away with my product and I have yet to see anything. The others either wanted to be paid or sent horrendous "content" that was no where near usable. I will not be using this company again and will not recommend it to anyone I know. The level of "influencer" on this site is highly lacking.

I am sorry to hear your experience was not good enough; this is not what we'd like to hear from our customers, and we admit we need to do a better job, in some aspects. However, please see some of our points below: 1. Regarding the content that was not up to your standards, unfortunately, you have not used our tools to get help. If the content created is not of high quality, you can always report a creator for this, and our team will jump in to help. Please check the article below to learn more about this feature that you have access to: help.thesocialcat.com/article/84-i-am-unhappy-with-a-collaboration-can-i-report-this Unfortunately, if we're unaware of this and the influencers are not reported, we cannot help at all. We designed this system to provide help, but we cannot provide much if not used. 2. Content guidelines I looked over the conversations with the influencers, and I do not see any guidelines or discussions around the content or deliverables with the influencers. A best practice here is to guide the influencers and let them know how you would like this collaboration to look. Otherwise, influencers will do what they think it's best, and sometimes, like in this case, this does not match your expectations. The brands usually let influencers know what they are looking for specifically. Unfortunately, we understand we did not do a good job, but also we believe our tools could have been used better to obtain a better result. Our team will reach out via email to chat more about this. I’ve had a wonderful time working with brands and connecting through SocialCat. My only feedback is adjusting the match making algorithm. Because I am a woman, I am matched with many things that are meant for children and pregnant women, and I feel as though that should be adjusted. Otherwise, all is enjoyable.

Not a bad platform for brands to connect with micros. Brands need to carefully vet the authenticity of influencers' social accounts as many just want free products and then do not post. Best to ensure brief is very tight.

Social Cat (or Kat) I'm not sure what they're going with here. It's not a bad concept - but there needs to be a LOT more vetting of these influencers to be sure they know how to use the standard tagging and collaboration tools within Instagram and/or tik tok to provide maximum engagement for both parties. If they don't then it's a waste of time and no different than my friend tagging me in post content which does nothing for me. Also, their app is very basic and not mobile-friendly at all. UX design is lacking for sure - but I know companies grow and hopefully, in the future, it will be better for businesses seeking real collaborators without having to sacrifice loads of product for subpar promotion.

Hi Meshawn, Thanks for the feedback; we understand your point of view and agree with it to a certain extent. Please see below some of our thoughts. Related to influencers using tagging and collaborations tools: We agree that we can do better here, and we just introduced these topics in our educational content, which will be launched anytime soon on Social Cat. Our team will create content around the subjects to better educate the creators. Thanks for sharing this with us. One thing to keep in mind here is that even with education in place, this will depend to a certain extent on the content creators and how fast or willing they are to adapt and implement these standards. Related to the app: We agree that the app is a bit basic now, and we need to improve the UX design. For us, the top priority so far was to have a product that provides value for our users, both brands and creators; by value, we mean to match brands with the creators they are looking for based on their requirements. The above requires a lot of work as it is backed up by a matchmaking algorithm that requires constant work and iteration. We will focus on design more in the following months and launch new features that will provide more value and slowly drift away from the "basic" feeling. On the mobile-friendly part, although a lot of the traffic comes from mobile, Social Cat's app is still a product that will rely a lot on desktops since this is used by a lot of small brand owners and marketing professionals. With these two "audiences" I just mentioned, it is safe to say that they use the product during working hours, primarily desktop-based. If future data shows us the opposite, we will adapt to this. Overall, Social Cat is growing, and we are confident that all the above will get sorted slowly but surely. We would love to get in touch later down the line, show you how we improved, and see if we can work together again. The influencers available were only Instagram accounts that all followed each other and commented on each other’s accounts so no real exposure. Two of my influencers are over a month late with posting. Review system allows the influencer to see how you reviewed them immediately, so even if you do everything right, and they just weren’t great, you’re hesitant to review them because they might review you poorly out of spite.

As I can see here, you are not quite happy with the services we provide, and I think it is normal to do the following: 1. I already refunded the payment into your account; there is no point in charging you for something that did not bring value to you. 2. I emailed you to learn more about this and possibly jump on a short call to talk more about this. We are well aware that our review system needs a bit of work to get where it should be; as of now, this is an early version of it, and we need to work more on it, so I completely agree with you. We already banned the influencers that did not post the content for you, as we got in touch with them and tried to have the campaigns up and running. The funny part is because we banned them, we also got a negative review from one of them. I joined social cat as an influencer awhile back and I got intouch with amazing brands.Joe from social cat keeps the communication between brand and influencer so smooth.This has made my work being an influencer so organised.I joined some other plateforms earlier but those were so complicated and I hardly got in touch with any brands.This should be the first choice for influencer and businesses as well.

I haven't found this platform great. Many brands have been poor at communication, or not bothered at all to reply to messages or send items, that were supposed to arrive? For this reason I am not using the platform anymore.

Hey Maryanne! Thanks for this review! While Social Cat focuses mostly on matching brands and influencers, currently, we work to improve what happens after the match as well, which is Engagement. Exactly what you mentioned above. Initially, we started Social Cat to solve a pain we all had: find the right brands and start working with them or find the right influencers for your brand. This is already something we solve and from feedback, we do it well, but we will focus more on Engagement and Product in the following months. Thanks for being with us! There are a few things of note to pay attention to: Positives A) Out of the interactions I've had so far, there are a few that were very pleasant and easy to work with. The content was great for one of them and I'm awaiting the others. B) I like that you can scroll and find influencers profiles that are a good match for you and love that you can mix and match what you are looking for.; C) I like the contracts feature. It helps to keep things clear when working with an influencer. Negatives: 1) The messaging system is pretty awful. I've had numerous issues with miscommunication with influencers. I've even had relationships disintegrate because they were overwhelmed by the jumbled messages they received as a result of the system making a mess of what I was writing. And you are sort of forced to write multiple messages because the template icon blocks the screen so you can't completely see what you are writing. It's incredibly infuriating. 2) I'm a little turned off by how many influencers apply to your campaign and then expect to be paid after they agreed to an affiiliate relationship. That is incredibly irritating. I feel like a paid campaign should be earned after building a good relationship, but a lot of the ones that I have interacted with wanted to do the bare minimum and acted like they were doing you a favor. 3) There's no clear support system if you run into problems. I've had someone basically cancel a contract for an incredibly frivolous reason and essentially walk away with the goods. I couldn't reach anyone at Social Cat and I'm worried that because I am not paying the top memberships (still want to evaluate the brand before I make a commitment) that I will not get a response from the team. But there is a CLEAR absence on the platform of anyone working for the company. The billing system is a well oiled machine, but you can't get anyone on the horn if someone runs away with your merchandise. I'm pretty concerned about this as I feel it leaves brands vulnerable to some kind of scams. It is heavily influencing my decision as to whether I want to stay with the platform or not. I'm waiting to see how some of the content I received performs in sales before I make my final decision.

I think you guys should have a better vetting process for these influencers. So far I have collabed with 4 and they were all a flop. I’ve been waiting for a couple others to upload and I feel like I’m just throwing money out the window with this website.

It's a great platform which cuts out agencies, making it far more affordable. I would say, that the monthly rolling contract could be better. It's great not to have the commitment of a long term contract, but to loose access to the dashboard while there are pending agreements for content that has not been delivered yet, feels like an unfair offering. It would be more supportive if there was a cut off of licences within that monthly membership instead, until the monthly payment or credits were purchased to start again from a new month. The rolling month works for me as I may have more or less time. But with that, as a business owner, I need that fleibility and access to manage this out side of the day to day task which are at a higher priority. I hope this helps! Thanks team

So far, for my first campaign, only 1 of the 3 people I selected delivered on what was expected. One has not responded after I sent her free items and the other keeps delaying. Not please.

Social Cat has been a great way to connect with brands and find some new campaigns! Although some of the campaigns are definitely from smaller brands, and it is hard to find any paid collaborations, it's a great start to build relationships, and Social Cat makes it easy to track requests, messages, and campaign progress!
