“Huge disappointment. I changed to The Fish Society as our Michelin Chefs used them and I presumed they would be good and reliable. I ordered nearly £250 worth or fish for Christmas Eve, specifically for sushi and sashimi along with other items. I placed the order early November for delivery Mon 22nd Dec thereby plenty of notice. I received a phone call the week before asking to change my date to the previous Friday (19th) I was a little worried it may be a little early or if there was any problems would it still get delivered on the weekend but I was assured everything was frozen (which was a suprise) and that it could go straight into the freezer on arrival and it would definitely arrive. It should have arrived by 5.30pm by courier... it didn't arrive, in addition, I received an email an hour after the parcel "should" have arrived informing me "due to stock errors" some of the sashimi wasn't in the shipment and I would be refunded. The rest of the order spent the entire weekend sitting in a van and arrived the following Monday as the courier didn't deliver on weekends. I tried phoning, emailed several times with no response. The parcel arrived the following Monday afternoon, everything defrosted and warm, went straight in the bin. There was a handful of ice packs on top of the items in a standard cardboard box that was too big for the quantity of fish and had no chance of keeping the items cold. I eventually got to speak to someone who confirmed the entire order would be refunded, they were quick to blame the courier but personally I think they took on more orders then they could handle and overextended themselves... I am still waiting for the refund, apparently it could take 10-15 days. It was too late to get replacements so we had to change the entire evening to accommodate the lack of fish. Of course they don't consider the fact that I am still out of pocket nearly £250 which may be a negligible amount to them but a lot of people would need that money to be able to buy replacements. I have previously always used the Cornish Fishmonger and they have never let me down in a decade, I will return to them for the future and will suggest the same for our chefs.”

“My parcel was due on 24/12 and was never delivered by the courier. The courier company told me to contact the company - which I have tried to do several times but have had no response from customer services. The email and phone number listed on the website do not work and are invalid. I’ve received multiple marketing emails each day but still no response about my cancelled order. The order was for Xmas dinner so was extremely disappointed when it didn’t show and I’d paid for delivery to make sure it arrived in time. I’m even more disappointed by the lack of customer aftercare.”

“Crab, scallops, salmon, lobster ? Arrived yesterday. All good although I cannot believe how tiny the lobster half s are !! Guess I should have seen the weight! The lobster halfs are 6 inches long! So will not buy them again !”

“Late delivery part of lunch menu with guests Not happy to be let down by DPD. They were at DPD depot at 9.30.deppt from our house is 20mins drive time not coming until late afternoon.”

“I ordered cooked Prawns and smoked Salmon for a Christmas starter for six... DPD stated they had the package & were delivering the food that day, but the day passed with no sign... I was later contacted and told that the delivery would now be the following day... I accept that this happens but with frozen food products I was concerned. Fish Society adverts market themselves as better than supermarkets because they freeze their produce immediately and move it on to to the customer quickly; my purchase however, was spending 2 days in the back of a DPD van... When the package eventually arrived the DPD driver didn't even attempt to knock on the door, but just left it by a back gate... I contacted Fish Society and when they got back to me they stated that providing the prawns had not fully defrosted I could place them in the freezer; I wasn't so sure. The prawns had defrosted and were to be used at a later date so I needed to keep them frozen. However, because they had defrosted whilst with DPD I used them early and got some others from my local supermarket... I appreciate that this was DPDs fault (they are generally poor), but it is Fish Society's responsibility and although the produce was good, I will probably not use them again...”

“Customer service and delivery excellent. Fabulous quality fish. I've so far tried the black cod, prawns, ( raw and cooked) and squid. The raw prawns were the best I have ever purchased and the other fish was superb too. Expensive but well worth it.”
