I've placed two orders and do not think it's great value, you can get the same or better in supermarkets, will not be ordering any more.

The heralded fish pies @£9 each were HUGELY disappointing. Glutenous and potato-heavy .. minority ingredient being the fish. One container melted in the oven. Bought 4 - never again - was refunded for 2. Most retailers would have refunded 100%. Fortunately there many other on-line fish retailers.

Our review request emails are automatically generated 10 days after the order was placed. You placed your order well in advance of your selected delivery date hence why you hadn't received your order by the time we asked you what you thought! Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Unforutnately my last order was disappointing. I ordered the clams, 2 packs, I made vongole with one pack and the clams were absolutely tasteless. There was also lots of sand so we were crunching through until we gave up. As the clams are precooked you assume they have been washed but obviously not. We also ordered the salt and pepper squid which comes in a box and is pretty poor, something you expect to get from Iceland not The Fish Society. My previous orders were for fresh fish and I have been very happy and happy to pay a bit extra due to the quality. I will throw away the other packet of clams and the rest of the squid which is a shame. The garlic prawns were ok but not amazing. I am yet to try the large red prawns so fingers crossed they will be good as they were quite pricey.

So far I am not impressed with the quality. I ordered the battered squid rings and they were awful. I have just carefully thawed and cooked the salmon fillet steaks and found them flavourless and without any of the lovely texture of fresh salmon

The service was very good, but I never new that every thing was frozen. I would never have got frozen rollmops and jellied eels. Freezing the eels makes them very watery and changes them. White fish frozen is fine. I never felt it was good value for money and the little tubs of shrimps was very disappointing for the cost.

Everything was broken the legs everything broke there was no meat inside these things despite me spending so much money its just not what i expected i would not recommend over priced for what u get.

When I opened the polystyrene cooler box I discovered one set of snails were out of the package, scattered inside the box. The cooler box wasn’t pristine inside, it had some kind of dust and little unknown crumbles. The second package of snails was also damaged- the foil was all squashed.

For the money paid I was so ...disapointed. My own fault of course,80grams was delivered...I am a pensioner and work in lbs and ounces. £10 30 with delivery for a piece of fish no bigger than a fish finger, I can not afford to buy any more. Thank you J Crosby

Hi. This was the first time I had ordered something from the Fish Society. I was not happy with the mussels. There were not cleaned enough and a lot of the shells still had their "beards" and they were muddy. I couldn't use them. I have yet to use the whole octopus - will be doing so this weekend. It wasn't clear on the website that it would have to be cleaned - I'm ok with doing this but if maybe make it clearer on the website.

Hello further to our conversation regarding the mussels, I'm pleased that we have been able to sort this out to your satisfaction. AS I explained on the phone, we say on our website that the whole octopus are frozen as they came out of the sea. Really pleased you enjoyed it.

We're sorry you thought them a little too salty John. All previous reviewers gave them 5 stars. Taste is subjective so we do realise that they aren't to everybody's taste.

Only buy if you want frozen products. I won’t be ordering again as we don’t like frozen produce and only eat fresh.

We are sorry that you found our website misleading Elcin. We do highlight if a product is frozen or ambient under the 'Key Properties' section on each product page.
