About the online grammar course I admit I didn't find it that helpful, it keeps asking me grammar rules and other things that I have studied plenty of time at university and I can revise them by my self if I need it. I would have expected a course on how teaching grammar contents to students. It's obvious that the course it's meant to be for native speakers who wish to become TEFL teachers and need to have a look at their own grammar as they studied it maybe in primary school. I am only referring to the grammar course, I hope the rest of the course will be more didactic.

The TEFL Org UK 120 hour course isn't a level 5 NVQ Ofqual accredited course like the tefl academy.com 168 hour course which is about the same price, at £199. I wish I had done that instead. In your about you said you were the most accredited. In hindsight, I find that a bit misleading. because the accreditations you have aren't as good as the tefl academy.com ones.

You need a proper lesson plan form.

For a starter it's a great introduction to teaching. It helped me understand more about grammar and helped me feel confident in being able to deliver succesful lesson. However, i already have a teaching degree so have experience of what a successful lesson looks like. If you are new to teaching however, i don't think this covers enough of what you need to be a succesful teacher. It covers the major points but there are little things like adapting the lesson plan to suit student's ability level and the importance of long term planning.

Well TEFL would really make me happy if the "videos" weren't just a black screen with audio scripts.

HI I have emailed you guys regarding an update to my personal profile on TEFL but have not heard from you since. I would like to make amendments to the name I have registered for the TEFL account by replace the current one with my full name. Please kindly get back to me at laura.ho.be.ms@gmail.com regarding this request. Otherwise everything with the course is so far so good.

If I can easily find work with this TEFL, I will be very happy. But one thing I don't really get is teaching certain words, for example "to agree, disagree, to like" etc. I can translate certain words in their languages but explaining them in English, I'll think I'll struggle.

The course Teaching English Online. (40 hours). I enrolled for a package of two courses to take advantage of the cost and discount. I now regret this mistake. I completed the first part- which would have been the course “how to teach English online”- and I have to retry the assignment 2 on the second course “set up and promote your TEFL lessons online.” I am not happy. There was a slight delay in the marking because it was the weekend. Now I received it back to retry and I don’t have time immediately because my course expires today. I called yesterday and spoke to Simone. I explained that I don’t really care about not getting the certificate for the part of the course on marketing, I just wanted the certificate for the teaching English Online. She said it is not possible, I have to complete the whole course! I am angry because if I had known this I would have not bought this combined course. I did because I was interested to know about the marketing. Now I have wasted my money and time and I can not get a certificate to show that at least I passed the “teach English Online “ part! What a waste- and I don’t have time to retry.

So far so good. I'm working my way through the grammar module and am enjoying it very much. I think my English is quite good anyway, but I've never actually been taught grammar so I'm finding it interesting to find out more about how the language works. The course is easy to follow and a nice mix of explanation and practice quizes.

At this time I am happy because I am learning quite a lot. However I was excepting more from your side. For example more exercises, more practice...

Like some of the activities, finding some of the videos a little boring and slow in delivery. Would like to see more modern teaching ideas

Haven't had time to even look at, let alone start the course yet! Am going to study it at my leisure but not necessarily with a view to teaching. More an interest factor. Hopefully, my access to the course will not be withdrawn in June as I may not submit the work pieces for review and certainly won't want to pay for an extension!

My answer to above question is that TEFL Org UK is acceptable - that doesn't mean the same thing as happy. I'm not happy with the admin dept: yesterday I asked a question concerning whether it was possible to move on after I'd passed a quiz with 70%. Whoever replied, doesn't even understand the course! Because they said that it was OK to move after you'd got "75%." As nearly all of the quizzes are marked in percentage points of tens, what on earth was this person talking about?! The admin dept seems to be run from somebody's I Phone, or they don't know how to write an email! So, even though I'm doing fine on the course, I'm not remotely happy with the admin dept.

The best part was the in-person class. The grammar stuff was far too easy, in fact the whole online course seems to be designed with the “lowest common denominator” in mind. There were countless spelling, grammatical and sequencing/logic errors. Even when the content seemed potentially interesting, it was disappointing to discover that an English teaching course could be so riddled with errors. I would recommend the course for the certificate, but not for the actual content. Having said that, it’s not terribly different from modern-day education in general, where the focus has shifted from educating to ticking boxes and collecting your diploma at the end.

I was about to write you. I failed the test at the end of Unit 2 twice. I studied and restudied the material and I felt I was correct with my answers--which in fact were wrong. I am a bright guy, doctorate degree and all, but the material is not working for me. I contacted my tutor and she said just keep trying because I can take the test as many times as I need to. Of course I can do that, but it does not mean I mastered the material. In early January my work is taking me to Uganda for an indefinite period of time. I will be far too busy to work on the course then. I request a refund of my tuition. I do not plan on continuing it at this time. Christian Hageseth, MD
