Haven't had time to even look at, let alone start the course yet! Am going to study it at my leisure but not necessarily with a view to teaching. More an interest factor. Hopefully, my access to the course will not be withdrawn in June as I may not submit the work pieces for review and certainly won't want to pay for an extension!

My answer to above question is that TEFL Org UK is acceptable - that doesn't mean the same thing as happy. I'm not happy with the admin dept: yesterday I asked a question concerning whether it was possible to move on after I'd passed a quiz with 70%. Whoever replied, doesn't even understand the course! Because they said that it was OK to move after you'd got "75%." As nearly all of the quizzes are marked in percentage points of tens, what on earth was this person talking about?! The admin dept seems to be run from somebody's I Phone, or they don't know how to write an email! So, even though I'm doing fine on the course, I'm not remotely happy with the admin dept.

The best part was the in-person class. The grammar stuff was far too easy, in fact the whole online course seems to be designed with the “lowest common denominator” in mind. There were countless spelling, grammatical and sequencing/logic errors. Even when the content seemed potentially interesting, it was disappointing to discover that an English teaching course could be so riddled with errors. I would recommend the course for the certificate, but not for the actual content. Having said that, it’s not terribly different from modern-day education in general, where the focus has shifted from educating to ticking boxes and collecting your diploma at the end.

I was about to write you. I failed the test at the end of Unit 2 twice. I studied and restudied the material and I felt I was correct with my answers--which in fact were wrong. I am a bright guy, doctorate degree and all, but the material is not working for me. I contacted my tutor and she said just keep trying because I can take the test as many times as I need to. Of course I can do that, but it does not mean I mastered the material. In early January my work is taking me to Uganda for an indefinite period of time. I will be far too busy to work on the course then. I request a refund of my tuition. I do not plan on continuing it at this time. Christian Hageseth, MD

The first part - grammar - was good. This next part Methodology is so frustrating as work goes missing and rewrites are hard to organise.

I have only really just started the course and haven't come across any problems so far. I do have some concerns for the future but will cross that when I finish the course

Simple structure and easy to follow. Your website seems to glitch a bit though.

It is a great tool for learning, however I sent an e-mail with questions and it states will answer within one business day. It has been 4 weeks and I still haven't been answered. My friend sent an e-mail two weeks later without response aswell.

Hello Tommy, Thanks for taking the time to review the course. I'm sorry to hear that you and your friend have not received responses from your emails. Can I just confirm the email addresses that you are sending them to. For general enquiries we have advice@tefl.org.uk and info@tefl.org.uk, and for course support we have support@tefl.org.uk. The course is good so far - only half way through at the moment! The videos are good for the introduction of new information. Downside: we have sent two emails asking questions and have not received any reply even though they say they respond within 1 business day.

Hello Karl, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Glad to hear that you are enjoying the course. Tutors are given up to 48 hours to reply to emails but we do aim to respond ASAP. Regards, Alan, TEFL Advisor

Very informative course on the language side - little in the way of classroom or student guidance.

First of all this question is asking how TEFL made me happy. That's not asking me for an honest review but a positive one. I find it strange that you have the course work set out with the quiz at the end of each section despite many times within that section there's a comment of "we'll discuss that later". No, discuss it now before you quiz me on it, not later on.

Well i was pretty happy up until the point I was lied to, my tutor was fantastic. But before the course started i spoke to a guy at your call centre who assured me I would get my certificate electronically instantly after completing my course. This was very important as I was completing this on a strict timeline and am now in Argentina waiting with my thumb up my ass not able to seek out work. I feel like your call centre employee deliberately deceived me to make the sale or was just plain uniformed, neither of which reflects great on you.

I don't always find the lay out of the course material user friendly. I am sure I am Mildly dyslexia and the jumble way the questions are laid out makes it challenging. I asked my husband to check and he found it difficult to follow.

The tutor feedback was quick and comprehensive. The course itself was OK, but the video quality was very poor and some of the quizzes had questions which seemed completely irrelevant. Everything could do with an update and a fresh design if this course is going to get 5 stars. It got the job done - but nothing special.

I am just at the beginning of my course. So far instructions has been cleared on what needs to be done. Suggestions to have the survey done nearer the end of the course, so students would have more insights on the course and contents.

The actual text are okay but would be much more helpful with more diagrams and examples. The quizzes are quite enjoyable. However, the assignments are terrible in my opinion. How the questions were presented are not clear enough, one of them had the question repeated twice, which overcomplicates learners like myself. It needs to be more easier and clearer to understand. Also, I feel that the pre-course were too short and it was rather focusing on things that was already covered in the first module.

I personally, being a visual learner, would have preferred (more) colorful tables, diagrams and the like. What bothers me most is the audio quality of most of your videos. Simply putting YouTube videos into the sections also appears a bit lazy, to be honest. I understand that this is a cost factor, but it really takes away from efectiveness and motivation having to concentrate very hard on a bad audio on a video that talks about an important topic. All in all the course is good, especially given the very good price. But I personally would rather pay a few pounds more and get better quality learning material.
