“Although everything seems straight forward in terms of completing each module, there seems to be a lack of support of certain subjects. The forums aren’t enough, everyone has an opinion and therefore no factual information. You don’t offer support for any grammar which seems far fetched. I would recommend assigning a tutor to explain any confusing modules. This will in turn encourage students to feel more confident and less alone. Thanks Joe”

Hi Joe, Thank you for taking the time to review our course. Although the Grammar and Language Awareness module is labelled as self-study, there is still support available should you need it - just email our team on support@tefl.org.uk and they will get back in touch ASAP with an answer. You also have a personal online tutor throughout your studies. They will be marking and providing feedback on each of your written assignment submissions, but are also there help answer any questions you may have at any point during your course. “Since I have started your course my only correspondence is when I ask or have an issue. Would be good to have some more personal input from staff to see how I’m going. Otherwise when I do respond it is a quick response. Calinda Clayton”

“Overall I think it's a pretty good program however I'm sure my experience is being colored by factors related to Covid 19. Sometimes class work seems a bit stressful. The tutor Thomas has made efforts to be of assistance. The going is slow but moving forward.”

“I would have liked my examples of real life classroom lessons. The learning of coursework became quite boring but I enjoyed doing the assignment because it was fun planning the activities. When I completed and passed the course I was told several time that I hadn’t completed the coursework when I clearly had. This has also happened in previous TEFL courses that I have successfully passed. Eventually I get an apology and agreeing with me that I have completed everything.”

“I think starting off with the grammar module makes the course heavy going. I think the assignments should be made easier or you should get help from the tutor. He should look over your work before you submit it for marking”

“Some things still need to be done. Im talking about some technical things and the site interface. There are some issues with the video player, for instance. Another thing I don't really like is in those video lessons, the teacher is the one who's wearing a mic. Thus, you can't hear anything the students are saying. My phone is Samsung A50 2019. Mostly doing the tests there.”

“The teaching course is ok so far although some videos have poor sound quality. Having booked the course from France and used my British debit card I was charged the cost in Euros instead of £, incurring extra charges ! The course offered a discount if booked within a short period of time but the "sale" seems to be ongoing which feels like a marketing trap...”

“so far it is just ok. The feedback on the quiz is non existent besides you got it right. That is not feedback. Some of the samples used do not really make sense to me. I think the examples used are worded strangely.”

“Having started the online course I believe that section is very helpful and something I wish to finish and enjoy. The weekend session where a group of us met was not what I expected. I was disappointed in the decorum of the teacher who lost their cool with our group a few times and the information given was things I had already been fortunate enough to do. This in my eyes was a section which has put me off of doing TEFL just due to how it came across and how disengaging it was.”

“I disagree with anonymous ! I'm really enjoying Kirsty's teaching lessons, Joe's also. They have such a good way with students. Kirsty's spot on with her explanations of teaching with kids. I would love to come close to her teaching ability !”

“I purchased 2 exactly the same tefl courses for my daughter and myself and this caused lots of confusion at tefl end,as my daughter needed her own student number and the course sent to her email. I do feel that the system for these circumstances should be clearer. It's since been sorted. However she doesn't receive any tefl emails or job offers as I do almost every day. To help her have a clearer picture of the various job offers around the world,and to build her confidence this would be useful. The other frustrating thing for me was that your office hours are not at all flexible...bog standard 9 to 5pm is very outdated and needs a serious overhall.... The UK does not run on a 9 to 5pm for most people as I work 9 to 5pm myself with no phone access at that time ,it was hard to discuss the problem that I had , and resolve it. It's very disappointing, when no one is available early mornings or evenings even once a week. I can't be the only student who has this difficulty. Thank you.”

“I appreciate how kind everyone at TEFL .Org UK is. The layout of the course site is very easy to navigate and all content is readable. The set up was very easy, and I appreciated how the site kept me updated on my progress. However, due to problems I was having with the actual course, I switched to a different administrator. I was continuously having to redo the same assignment over and over again, which prevented me from moving forward. Each time I submitted the same assignment, it was returned with a “retry”. Each time, there was new feedback that was not there before. One assignment had to be resubmitted 6-7 times. It became frustrating, so I emailed the tutor directly and requested that all feedback be elaborate enough where I only resubmit once or twice. Unfortunately, I just switched administrators.”
