“Really good device for tracking my wife, who has Alzheimers. I would have given 5 stars if battery lasted longer than two and a half days to 3 days max in default mode 2. However, I'm very pleased with the functionality and ease of tracking on the map.”

“Very pleased when first received it but microphone not working on telephone calls. Reported it following day so we haven’t used it waiting for a replacement. Very helpful customer service staff . hoping the replacement will work.”

“I have been looking for something like this for ages my wife went blind in 2015 all i wanted was a mobile with 3 to 4 buttons on it more so that she is now contactable.she cannot read Braille and you didn't have to get a bankloan to buy”

“Well presented Grandpad with clear and easy instructions to get started. Both of my parents are already enjoying the benefits of being more connected with family. “The bright colour is fine, and the large numbers. Bought because my husband has very poor sight, and for that it's fine, however, the keyboard is quite light weight and the 'legs' tend to collapse. I'm not worried about it because I have been trying to get him to use the computer for the past 40 years, so i am not holding my breath that he will apply himself this time either. Must say the service and delivery times were outstanding.”

“We have had the watch for 2 days and so far it has been very valuable. I must admit, I did not know you had to subscribe to a £9.99 monthly fee this was not clear on the ad. Having said that, safety of loved ones is priceless, so I have paid it without question. It is very accurate and has proven to be worth it. It does say when reading more about it that you should ‘subscribe’ prior to ordering. We received the watch we ordered for £99, then found we had to subscribe to make it work, which was not as intended. That said after the short time we have had it I have been impressed and would recommend - if you are happy to fork out a monthly fee on top.”

Hello Julia, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I am pleased that you have found the GPS Tracking Watch a worthwhile investment. I am sorry that you were not aware of the subscription when you decided to buy the watch. Hopefully you have been informed that there are no GPS tracking devices that do not incur an ongoing charge. This is because the tracking data needs to be transmitted to the tracking app, which is rather like the monthly fee associated with mobile phone ownership. As you so rightly say "safety of loved ones is priceless", also GPS trackers in this application are to make it possible for the person to stay at home longer, the alternative of care homes being considerably more costly. Thank you for you support and stay safe.

“I’ve been very impressed with the design of the GrandPad. It has been well thought out and is very easy to use. The support system also seems very user friendly. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because the monthly fees are quite expensive but I suppose the support staff have to be paid. I bought it for my cousin who has dementia and she is struggling a bit unless she has someone with her but with a bit more practice I’m hoping she will get more confident with it.”

As you say support staff costs need to be considered and are an essential part of the GrandPad service. I am afraid margins are very low so there is no scope for reducing the monthly subscription.

“Its a great thing for older people.... famtastic. My husband has Alzheimers so to get him used to it we have put only phone with photographs andd some photos and removed the other options for now.... slow and steady does it .. once he is used to that we will start to introduce the other features. It is so simple to use and for elderly people with little tech ability its a great inovation and I am sure it will be for him but it will take time to get used to The phone number seems to be california !?”

“My wife and I found your device difficult to unjam when jamming occurred. She no longer requires the tracker, as she is now permanently resident in a care home. “In short, this does work. A little bit fiddly at first, but you get used to it.. l found it difficult to find out how to upgrade to a signal every minute, but that's not a real problem. I like cycling long distance on cycle paths, but with a cardiac problem l need to leave a trail, where if anything happened, l could be tracked.”

“Great phone for the elderly as it’s very simple & straight forward- making it easy to use. Love the fact that names & numbers can be added to the face of the phone making it much easier for the user to access contacts. Only downfall I think is it’s quite expensive especially when it’s target group is the elderly infirm.”

My comment, as a touch typist who may very occasionally use his desktop is that the F and J keys do not have the tiny raised section that alerts me to the fact that my fingers are in the correct place. “This watch is absolutely brilliant and allows me to keep an eye on my grandads location now that he has vascular dementia. It means he hasn’t lost his freedom but I still know he is safe. The simple call function has also given him peace of mind that we’ll be able to find him if he gets lost whilst out. The only criticisms I have are that the display would have been better if it has been a bit bigger as my grandad struggles with his eye sight. The main issue for me though is the strap. He cannot do the strap up himself so an extendable or velcro strap would have been better. Other than that it is fantastic value for money. Fantastic piece of kit that helps tackle a lot of the issues that come with dementia for families.”

Regarding the display size and watch strap, we do have another GPS watch which has the facility of fitting a different strap and has a large analogue display though it is more expensive. We are always on the lookout for products to add to our range though so thanks for the suggestions.
