“I’ve been taking lessons with Neve for a few months now and she’s absolutely great!!! It is crazy to me that she isn’t completely booked out every week as she truly is that good. She makes me feel confident and never judges me when i have a bad day.
She’s quite young but has many years experience of swimming. She’s extremely calm and confident in the water and is excellent at talking, which helps relax you a lot :)
Although I will say, if it wasn’t for Neve being so superbly good I would not use SwimNow.
Their sales tactics remind me of my ex boyfriend, calling me up at 8pm on a Friday and begging me for money.
The second you open an email they call you, begging you to pay them. They try and upsell you repeatedly. It’s almost like they’ve watched a youtube course by Gary Vee, notorious crypto scammer, on how to close a sale.
And when you do actually want to talk to them, it seems like they don’t want to talk to you. You’re already paying them, they probably make commission from new sales and not keeping existing sales around. I had to do some proper graft just to get them to talk to me.
Their sales tactics are so moronic that they even asked me if i wanted to take swimming lessons with Neve 2 months after I had started.
I block them on everything and just talk to Neve directly, as she’s actually a great human being and a great swim teacher. My life has gotten significantly calmer since they can no longer reach out to me about whatever they want to upsell me on next.
Despite being subjected to what feels like a sales team who get no salary and live off of commissions alone, I still chose their swimming lessons because of how good Neve is. Whatever they make per upsell they should consider giving to Neve instead, because she’s the real reason they can close any sales at all.
In fact, i deliberately avoided their service the previous 2 times I tried to use them because of their Only Fools and Horses style tactics.
If it wasn’t for the fact that i wanted to learn to swim so badly I went to a taster session and got to experience The Wonder of Neve, i would not be here :)”
“The lessons are okay, only finding getting appointments quite difficult I work shifts, so my availability is never constant so it’s been difficult for me”
“I have to say the facilities for a 4 I/2 year old were poor. He is currently a member in third space in London. We were hoping that he would have lessons during his time here. I was pleased to get a place but found it very uninviting. It certainly wasn’t appealing in anyway. That is no reflection on the instructor. I also thought it overpriced fit what it was. I was a member of this particular club many years ago and didn’t feel it had improved that much.”
“We bought an introductory lesson and, whilst the instructor was very pleasant, it did not really fulfill our needs unfortunately. We are both decent swimmers looking to improve whilst avoiding further injury and, although this was explained to the very pleasant gentleman who contacted me initially, it did not appear to have been communicated to the instructor. As a result, we both felt it was rather a waste of time and money for us. Probably better for beginner swimmers.”
“This is a great idea for adults who want to learn to swim, unfortunately I don't think my instructor realised how afraid of swimming I actually was and went a bit too fast for me which has put me off.”
“Swim coach Andy was brilliant, however, contact from Swim Now is dreadful. We waited 6 months after paying initial deposit and when emailing them to chase up anything, they never replied. We unfortunately had to miss one lesson due to child sickness when i picked him up from school and didn’t want him to be sick in the pool. Although I messaged Andy to inform him of this, it was counted as a lesson as it wasn’t 24 hours notice. I emailed Swim Now but again they didn’t bother even replying to me. Lessons are good but very expensive, will be looking for a 1-2-1 lesson at my local pool for a third of the price!”
“Hi I had Janet...at Crewe Hall fir my 2 boys, she was very good and gave them looks of confidence.
Down side, expensive and lessons need to be slightly longer.”
“Good and accommodating swimming teachers, however the prices for private tuition/ lessons are very expensive compared to other companies, in fact SwimNow rates are almost double the rates of other reputable swimming companies in similar location. Otherwise good level of service so far. Best wishes”
“It was lovely to see my grandson on his first taster session. Sadly the lessons are more expensive at an hourly rate of £90 than getting a pilots licence so I cannot afford to continue and will look for a cheaper option.”
“The instructor is amazing I can not fault her, from the first moments of the first lesson it's been fantastic, as a grown man there was a certain element of self awareness having swimming lessons at my age, but that was dispelled immediately. The only problem and why it's not got 5 stars is the size of the pool is small, so sometimes it can feel crowded and also it's not very long to let you get a rhythm going in it before you have to stop again. Otherwise I would've give it 5 stars”
“Monika my swim instructor was very good and understood the areas of my stroke that needed work. However it isn't conducive to learning when using a relatively small hotel swimming pool that is open to all at the time of the lesson. It's hard to hear and you are having to dodge other people as you try to swim a length.”
