“Initial impression is that Start Rescue provides cover which is competitive with other better known organisations. Website is easy to use and signing up is not a problem. A telephone call to clarify a query about paying for use of additional equipment (use of a winch in event of breakdown) was dealt with efficiently. A truly comprehensive review can only be given following a breakdown. At the present time so far, so good.”

“I have written this review after using Start Rescue's website to buy breakdown cover. I have not yet experienced Start Rescue's performance at helping me after a breakdown. 1998-2020 I used the AA. Very expensive but gave excellent service (actually used them 3 times). 2020-2023 I used Green Flag because they were significantly cheaper than AA but, because I didn't have any breakdowns, I didn't experience the quality of their service. By Nov 2023 Green Flag's fees were approaching the AA's. For that reason I switched to Start Rescue. I paid £178 for 3 cars, for the top level of cover excluding travel on continent. (AA quoted £320, Green Flag £288.) Also, and very importantly for me, Start Rescue covers vehicles more than 16 years old. The website was easy to use. I have bought cover for the 3 cars in my family. Only one little niggle is that the website didn't make it clear that I would have to add my 3rd vehicle after receiving the documents for the first 2 vehicles. I don't have any experience yet of Start Rescue's performance at the roadside. Which? magazine gives a good report, which encouraged me to dump the AA and Green Flag.”

“The online process of purchasing breakdown insurance was easy to understand and competitively priced compared to my current provided by green flag. I liked the fact that they emailed all the documents to you rather than having to go online to access them”

“I chose Start Rescue after reading the Which? Awards, and the general good public feedback especially after several years' results. The price was excellent, and there were a wide range of benefits included. The website was clearly set out, and easy to understand - felt welcoming and reassuring, Now I just hope I don't have to call them, when I'm out and about! (4* as I haven't tried out the service yet!)”
